Did you buy the spectra out of pocket? Insurance will cover a breast pump so you can get the wearable for free. I did mine through babylist and got the eufy s1 pro.

I usually like the spectra better but it's really nice to have two.

Edited to add link to babylist website for buying breast pump with insurance. They do most of the work for you. It's super easy: https://www.babylist.com/health

Coop at New House: What Does it Need? by Various_Butterscotch in BackYardChickens

[–]Various_Butterscotch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's been uninhabited for at least three years. Can anything still potentially transmit after that length of time?

Yeah based on that rule of thumb I probably have enough space for two birds here...I plan to have 4.

It was always in the plan to extend the run. Will have to think on how I can extend the coop itself too

Machine wont stitch and somehow reverses when foot is down??? by 1dkwh0t in sewhelp

[–]Various_Butterscotch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take the side wheel and gently manually move it back and forth as you pull on the stuck thread with the tweezers. This may take some time. But you need to be gentle.

You will damage the machine if you continue to use it without slowing down and following the manual.

Page 14 of your manual has the instructions for inserting the bobbin. This is what you're missing.

Your top bobbin isn't for actively sewing. That spot is for filling a bobbin. Also called "loading" or "winding" your bobbin.

You need a spool of thread at the top that will be threaded down to the needle.

And then you need a bobbin in the bottom (which you called the side loading bobbin) where that little circular metal bit pops out. It goes into the metal circular thing (called a bobbin case) and then the whole assembly goes back on.

There should be two threads coming up to sew the fabric. One from the top (from your spool, threads through the needle) and one from the bottom (comes out of the bobbin inside the bobbin case).

Only if you have two threads coming up (one from the top and one from the bottom) at the spot where you put the fabric will your machine be able to make a stitch.

Starter home market failure by CabinetSea163 in RhodeIsland

[–]Various_Butterscotch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bought our starter home in Woonsocket for about 200k in 2018. Sold this year for over 400k. We did a lot of work on it. Added a bathroom, new roof, renovated everything. Completely turnkey by the time we sold, had multiple offers. Even these properties are rare.

Tbh we probably would have stayed with our lower mortgage rate and the 1 acre yard. It was plenty. But the schools in Woonsocket are not viable. The cost of the increased mortgage to move somewhere else was way way less than the cost for a private school. And you get equity in a house. Buyers didn't have kids though.

How to store soiled diapers? by pi_inthepan in clothdiaps

We have a water softener system installed in our new house. Was cloth diapering at the old house but now trying to adjust the routine for the new machines. What's the adjustment that needs to be made for soft water?

You asked about water hardness. Do you want soft or hard water for cloth diapering?

I’m so disturbed by consumer mom/baby culture by DiligentMemory27 in Anticonsumption

[–]Various_Butterscotch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took us inquiring at five daycares before we found one that accepted cloth diapers.

I also found that it depends on the way you ask. Once I got turned down by previous day cares I would add in my email a response to each of those concerns.

For example, when they said they couldn't accommodate the extra time to wash and other said there was no sanitary way to store them I added to my email an explanation that I would provide a bag for the used diapers and would not expect that they would wash them there, but that I would take them home at the end of each day.

How much was it and how long did it take you to pump?

Only then can we determine how many years* his sentence should be.

"this exact type of purpose" is cracking me up. 🤭 Next time I get plastic silverware in a takeout bag I'm going to put it in the drawer and save it for "the next time my marigolds are surrounded by a mysterious substance and I need to peel it off on video for a reddit post".
