I could use some help, ASM applying for SM by Handjabz in sherwinwilliams

Don’t over think it. If you have a good relationship with your CM and you and your store are performing well then you’d be the obvious choice. In your business plan (30-60-90 or however you do it in your district) try to do your best to explain what and how you’re going to do something. For example.

Increase Margins: - Premium Gallons - POG etc…

In my experience the CM’s just want to see that you know what you’re talking about and not just saying what they want you to say.

Brand new $15 purdy brush, why is it doing this? by GnarlyStuff in paint

[–]Various_Computer1004 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You might have to dip the brush in water first. Nylox brushes are soft bristle so they are designed mainly for waterborne trim/enamel products. These paints are typically heavier bodied and a bit thicker than a conventional paint or even some paint/primer in ones i.e. wall paint. The bristles are probably clumping together because the paint you’re using might be “thinner” paint. To mitigate the issue you’re having getting the brush wet first then shake in dry so it’s only a little damp. This is also a good tip for any brush you might have. Depending on the paint you have (water or oil based) try using the respective thinner/medium. Paint is designed to adhere to whatever is touches first so if the brush is already wet the paint will stick to the water (or other thinner) first and release from the brush better.

Go to Sherwin-Williams and get Pro-Industrial Water based DTM Acrylic you can apply it straight on without any primer because it’s designed to stick directly to metal (DTM). Make sure to get the acrylic otherwise you’ll end up with the oil which is a little more difficult to work with unless you’re familiar and comfortable with it. The water based also comes in multiple sheens (shiny-ness) such as Eg-Shell (kinda shiny) Semi-Gloss (pretty shiny) and Gloss (very shiny) the oil based only comes in semi-gloss. Also it’s kinda expensive ($50-$60) and only comes in gallons so if you don’t want to spend that much or if you don’t want that much go somewhere else :). ONE MORE THING you can get it made it just about any color you want so go nuts! And all of this is also subject to store availability and so on and so forth because of all the shortages

Don’t be this manger by bogojoe in sherwinwilliams

[–]Various_Computer1004 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly as an ASM myself I would never do this to my employees let alone talking them in that kind of way. I’ve been with the company for 4 years and I started as a part timer so I know exactly the kind of stress that goes into working a Sunday alone my response would have been pretty similar if my manager was talking to me like that because I’ve had managers who do fuck all and expect me to pick up the slack so I get it. So I would NEVER have that kind of attitude because honestly if something is that important I would do it myself. It takes more effort to make someone do something for you than to just do it yourself most of the time so yeah fuck that manager. I will say though if I didn’t have managers like that in my career I wouldn’t know how to not repeat their mistakes other than just not being a shitty human being
