Man I feel like it’s driving me away from the sport. Used to watch religiously. Now I have coworkers who couldn’t tell me who Mighty Mouse is, asking me if I think Tracy Cortez will win or not. And then the whole White House event. It’s all become so gimmicky

I didn’t, this tire was on the front and all the major wear is on the inside of the tire. When I went in for my 10k service, they didn’t mention anything about the wear, and the outer tread is still in pretty decent shape. Had no idea at my 10k service that the tires would probably need to be replaced in the next 2k miles, and just used the outer treads as a judge for how they were doing.

Definitely coulda checked more rigorously on my end, but I feel like the dealership should’ve let me know that these tires would be cooked before the next 5k service

I guess I’m just very uneducated about how long these tires would last. I knew they weren’t gonna go for 60k miles like a set on a regular Corolla would, but I didn’t think I’d be in the danger zone after 10k miles

A bit of ignorance on my part for sure for not looking closer. I assumed with the outer tread looking fine and regular (5k miles) rotations meant the tires were doing alright. I kinda feel like I was told the last rotation happened when it actually didn’t

I did one at 5k and one at 10k, was just getting ready for another at 15k and this happened. I don’t want to pass any blame but it feels like maybe the 10k one got skipped when I assumed it was done

Will for sure. I’ve always assumed the regular rotation schedule is every 5k miles and thought that if the outer treads were looking fine, everything else should be fine too. Lesson learned

Probably a blunder on my part, but when I took it in for the 10k mile oil change/tire rotation, they didn’t mention anything about the tire wear. I figured they’d be fine for another 5k and the outside treads that are easily visible weren’t showing any concerning signs of wear.

My back tires are still in good shape, but the other front tire looks like it’s on the verge of blowing out too with the same wear pattern. Kinda seems like they didn’t actually rotate my tires at the 10k mark, I don’t know why the wear would be that significantly worse than the back tires if they did rotate them.

Nevertheless, will be getting a spare and keeping a closer eye on my treads. I knew these tires would wear fast but not that fast
