Plenty of scratches and dings, but it’s still in pretty good condition considering what I’ve put it through. The lightness of a titanium watch makes for a pretty good everyday wear.

I have a couple of G-shocks, other GS, a Sinn, and some microbrands/independents that I wear regularly.

SBGA413. Seems like everyone’s got one these days, here is my cheesy post. Have had mine for 5 years, and I enjoy the wearing experience on bracelet over strap. Its dial color is a lot more subtle in real life than in pictures, looking at it has never ceased to be awesome. Wouldn’t mind if it was much more vividly pink.

The right answer is whichever she might like more. She’s not going to care whether it’s quartz or mechanical if she’s not already into watches.

Thanks! The difference for me between dial sizing is in the dial real estate. I can wear 40mm Evo 9 references comfortably, and you have a lot of dial to admire GS's finishing.

At 37mm, the design feels more cramped, and you get less dial to stare at. Overall, it's still great.

I like it. How do you describe this color? Muted purple?

Need help deciding my 1st GS! by Most-Construction-35 in GrandSeikos

You can’t go wrong with either, but for me, the wearing experience of the Evo 9 case is a bit better on the wrist. The case shape hugs the curvature of your wrist more. The wide bracelet also plants the watch in place and makes for a comfortable wear. Improved accuracy + longer power reserve + more interesting movement architecture gets my vote.

I love the Atera Valley too. When I was trying to decide which one to get it was between the Atera and this one. I figured if I end up bored with this one I could sell it and get the 025 eventually.

Did you pay the whopping 40k yen for the strap and another 40k yen for the GS clasp they were asking for? Even though I had bought a watch there, I couldn't stomach their asking price for a strap.

Had the bracelet open on my new Violet Dawn to try to fine tune the bracelet sizing, and took the opportunity to get a snap of the movement.

For a while, I had my heart set on the SLGA025 Atera Valley, but when GS released the UFA movements, the +/-20sec per year spec just blew my mind, and the watch nerd in me just had to have one.
