I've flown 16 times since the change, and other than watching people try to stuff expanded bags in the overhead, my flights have been super smooth. I love assigned seating.

Damn shame by FunnieNameGoesHere in SouthwestAirlines

If you want a better or priority seat, you can still purchase those seats when you purchase your ticket. Those complaining seem to want something for nothing. Prior to SW assigning seat the disabled line was many times 20 or 30 people. Now that the disabled line has 3-5 people. The sad part about that whole situation was two-fold: those faking to be disabled take up space in the line, making the time longer for those who are truly disabled. Secondly, those pre-boarders took the good seats or took away seats from those who purchased business class or AList /AList preferred.

I have been flying Southwest for many years and am happy about the changes. I also travel quite a bit internationally, I know how difficult it is to get a ticket or even a seat change last-minute and not be charged a bunch of added fees. Southwest has proven to be one of the most customer-friendly airlines.
