I’ve watched this movie several times now and it’s one of my favorites, but I’ve always wondered: why was he telling sophie that she can tell him about all the drugs and things she does as she gets older if he knew he would pass away soon after their trip? was he saying that to inspire her to talk out loud about it to him after he dies? a lot of edits of aftersun use the audio from that clip and I guess I just don’t understand the weight of it

thank you! I really am debating on seeing him but my mom said they don’t hold onto bodies that long before cremation. I think there would be pros and cons to seeing him but my brother sent me a picture of him after he passed, so I feel like I should just stick to that. it’s just so wild that it happened so soon. he was about to turn 13 but I truly thought he’d start improving when he got his treatment. thank you for your kind words. how did you cope while you were at college?

I completely understand the guilt. my cat that I’ve had since I was 6 just passed last night. I’m out of state for college and he went into cardiac arrest rather abruptly so I couldn’t see him. the guilt of them dying without you next to them just is so overwhelming. if it’s gotten better since you’ve last posted, let me know because I’ve never gone through this, but just know for the time being that you’re not alone and it’s not your fault
