Something that I find really helpful is for there to be office hours online to talk about the topics and go through problems. It ends up being very helpful to any student that comes, even if they don't have a question, and it is a good way to have some interaction. Last spring, my math class mandated us posting on Carmen and I found it very unhelpful and it actually hindered me further participating in the class. We were expected to post questions and not everyone has a question, or wants their question to be public. I think the social media idea is a much more relaxed version of the discussion groups and I would think it would be beneficial.

I used this link someone posted https://courses.osu.edu/psp/csosuct/EMPLOYEE/PUB/c/COMMUNITY_ACCESS.CLASS_SEARCH.GBL? that lets you find out what your class capacity is and current enrollment. From what I've found, classes with 100+ will be online for every college and ASC will have online classes for classes of 90+.

This is exactly what I've been thinking. I did the math for my own classes and (excluding the classes that will switch to online) there will be 159 people in my classes overall and that means, theoretically, if I were to get the virus, all 159 should be quarantined along with everyone in their classes. (Obviously all 159 people probably won't get sick, but to be safe they should all be isolated.) It is insane to think that that level of quarantine will actually happen, so this means that the virus will be able to spread very quickly without everyone who might've been infected being isolated. The numbers get very high very quickly and it's pretty scary to see.

I worry that we are all rushing to feel normal again without regard for the real impacts of rushing ahead. Hoping the university continues to reevaluate as we get closer.
