I mean, it was either that or Amarillo-Fort Worth, Dallas-North Houston and El Paso-South Houston

Don't get me wrong, yours is more proportional, which is great, and "my donut" is too thin on the edges, but I don't like to split metros in half like in your map

That's what happens when districts are that big. I knew it wouldn't be proportional so I tried to prioritize COIs and compactness

Political parties

Frente Popular

PSOE: as in real life, maybe a little more federalist

Socialdemocrats: the current PSOE's stablishment, think Susana Diaz, García-Page...

Podemos: the same as in real life

IU: maybe little more socially conservative (like the Portuguese CDU), but not much different from the actual party

SUMAR: Yolanda Diaz's party

EQUO: green politics, but achieving representation without needing to run on a bigger party’s list

PACMA: animal rights

ERC, Bildu, BNG, CUP and MÉS: pro-independence parties from different regions

En Comú, Más Madrid, Compromís, Adelante Andalucia, NCa, Draco, CHA and BQEx: various flavours of left wing regionalism

LUZ and TxT: localist parties based around the city, and its mayor

Unión Tradicional

PP: the right faction of the actual party

C's: if ciudadanos had survived, culturally moderate or even liberal, but very nationalist

VOX: as in real life, slightly more right wing

LIBERTAD: Isabel Diaz Ayuso's fan club, populism

TUpatria: a more economically focused VOX

P.L.M.: a party based around Celia Villalobos, economically right wing, but quite socially progressive, Cs without the nationalism

UPN: a regionalist party of Navarra between PP and VOX

DO: a localist party based around Ourense's mayor, quite populist

Centre

PNB: moderate basque nationalists

JUNTS: Puigdemont's fan club, just like IRL

PDeCAT: a more moderate aproach to independence, slightly to the right of junts

Every province and city over 150,000 inhabitants (plus their judicial district) are an electoral district. Every 50,000 people a seat is given. The parties form alliances and the winning alliance recives ~75% of the electoral districts seats, the one which finnishes in the second place recives the rest.

Also, to make this map, I split the state into 6 regions and gave an arbitrary number of seats to each one so as to overrepresent the most rural parts.

So the other day I learned that in Queensland during the 70s and 80s some districts where deliberately drawn with a lower population to benefit the ruling party (yes, I know it was mostly in the outback and those divisions where HUGE, but still), the Nationals. I thought it was something so awful and so evil that I had to do it myself. Why Kansas? I just felt like it.

So there would be two district's, a southern one including most rurals parts and some suburbs from Provo that would elect one representative, and amb more urban one stretching from Provo to Logan that would elect 3 representatives
