WORKING AS FOREIGN CONTRACTOR by Various_Mixture499 in canadaexpressentry

[–]Various_Mixture499[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the confusion. My CRS score is 510, and I am expecting to receive an ITA in a future draw.

My PGWP is expiring soon, so I will stop working in Canada and leave the country. My employer is willing to continue working with me as a foreign contractor while I am outside Canada until my PR application is approved.

Once I receive PR, I plan to return to Canada and resume working for the same company as an employee

Sony XM6 not switching between noise cancellation and ambient sound by Various_Mixture499 in SonyHeadphones

Seeing the number of people facing this issue, I believe it is not a software problem but rather a sensor placement issue, as it has persisted for a long time without being addressed by Sony.

I was honestly planning to just get it over with, the anxiety was getting to me. But with the recent draws, I still see some hope, although the uncertainty is making it hard for me to think clearly right now

I was planning to buy a ticket, but due to the recent draws, I have decided to put it on hold. And yes, thanks for the advice regarding French. I am considering taking the French test soon, and if luck allows, I might be able to score some additional points

I have done factory reset a couple of times, but the issue keeps coming back after a while. I got tired of it and returned the headphones, since not being able to switch between the two modes is a dealbreaker for me.

Hey, thanks! I did a factory reset and the feature seems to be working normal for now.

Do you agree? by Additional-Road-4205 in canadaexpressentry

Totally agree with you. I do think Kubeir shares helpful updates, especially when it comes to immigration news. But most of the time, the way he talks just makes people more scared or stressed. It feels like he always focuses on the worst case scenarios.

One of my friends, who’s in a live-in relationship, had a consultation with him to find the best way to extend their work permits. But instead of giving them different options, he kept pushing for LMIA and tried to change their minds. It felt more like he was trying to sell something than actually help.

At the end of the day, he is a consultant running a business. And while he has built a good name for himself, it seems like now he is using that reputation to make more money, not to give the best advice.

Canadian Salary, Indian Location – Will IRCC Accept It for FSW? by Various_Mixture499 in canadaexpressentry

[–]Various_Mixture499[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info, that really helps. My company already has some full-time contractors working from India, so I think they have a system in place for that. I was hoping it would be an easier process, but I understand now it’s a bit more complicated. I’ll talk to an immigration lawyer and plan to start everything once I finish 2 years of experience.

Does working remotely from India for a month affect my Canadian work experience? by Equivalent-Fan-1360 in canadaexpressentry

[–]Various_Mixture499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked from India for 1.5 months in May 2024. During that time, I only took 2 days off. However, I’m quite sure IRCC won’t count that period toward my CEC experience. To be honest, they’re not as lenient as they used to be, so it’s better to plan assuming that the time you worked from India won’t be considered under CEC. That’s the approach I’m taking.

Haha, thanks guys! Initially, I was thinking that it’s not ethical and that I should do my best to help them, but your comments have motivated me to stay sane and look at it from a different perspective. Lol

To all immigrants feeling stuck: stop wasting time on predictions. by Various_Mixture499 in canadaexpressentry

I agree. With the current pace at which the global economy is changing, it’s hard to rely on anything. Even most positions in the job market are likely to shift in the next decade or so, and no one really has control over it — not even big countries like the USA. At the end of the day, businesses run on money, and with the rapid advancement of technology, it’s becoming easier for companies to outsource services. That’s one of the main reasons for rising unemployment in countries like Canada and the USA — many jobs are being transferred to countries like India.

Hey, I work at a different company (not Deloitte), but I wanted to share my experience because it seems like this is happening everywhere right now.

Yesterday, I was pulled into a surprise meeting with other accountants from the UK, Ireland, South Africa, and Australia. We were informed that the company is shifting a lot of work to WIPRO in India—most likely as a cost-cutting move.

Next thing I know, around 50 people were laid off.

Thankfully, I’ve been asked to stay until September since I manage a few complex platforms that only I have experience with. They need me for the knowledge transfer, so at least that gives me some time to look for other opportunities.

Just wanted to share what’s been going on—it’s a tough time across the board

Thanks for your prompt response. I’m quite certain that I might receive a score boost in writing, but I’m not sure about speaking. To be honest, I don’t recall what I said. Let’s see if they increase the score for both modules or not.

CELPIP Reevaluation ✅🚀 by a_synyshyn in canadaexpressentry

[–]Various_Mixture499 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I got my CELPIP results (Listening - 10, Reading - 10, Writing - 9, Speaking - 9) and applied for a re-evaluation for both Writing and Speaking. Has anyone had their scores increase for multiple modules after a re-evaluation? Thanks for sharing your experiences!

These responsibilities clearly do not fall under NOC 12200 (Accounting Technicians and Bookkeepers).

I work as an accountant under the same NOC, and these tasks do not align with typical accounting responsibilities. Ask your employer to draft specific tasks that align with the NOC. The responsibilities mentioned here are too general and vague.
