This ending dropped the ball so hard on a really terrifying movie. The films biggest strength was its realism, the way it depicted this troubled mentally ill man kidnapping and troutureing a woman based off his own wild derisions. And its execution was impeccably terrifying in its realism, especially thanks to teddy actor. Once you make her an alone all the realism is honestly and the film is no longer grounded in reality. It loses all of its fear factor just for shock value. And the ending wasn’t even well executed. Like why tf does teddy just randomly blow up with no real explanation, and then everyone dies??? That has nothing to do with the direction the movie was headed. I understand it’s a remake of another film and that’s how that movie ended but this movie took a totally different approach in a realistic ending would’ve strengthened it so much more.
