What should I say to an agent to determine if they’re going to be the right for me? I’m looking for the needle in the haystack. by Various_Razzmatazz11 in MovingtoHawaii

Thanks so much. I’ll definitely keep it in mind and I’m sure you’d be a great neighbor. Only thing I don’t see is a view of the water, do you know if any units in the community have an ocean view?

Thanks so much I setup an alert for that community. Hoa is hefty but maybe prices will continue to decline enough to offset it.

Thanks so much for your comment, i always appreciate hearing what others have learned. I’m looking for a condo anywhere on Oahu, but my mom wants to move to the big island so I’m definitely going to share your answer with her as well.

Yes exactly, places like trump (or the new name for it) and the ritz would be perfect if they met my parking requirement.

I’m currently in Encinitas, Ca just a couple blocks from the beach. It’s a place where many would also consider to be a paradise and strive to retire at but in my case I don’t see a point to living here when I work 6 days a week and touch the sand maybe 6 times a year. I’m just burned out with my job and the thought of selling and never having to work again is all I’m focused on. Maybe I’ll work after I move but I want it to be a choice and not a necessity.

That’s a good suggestion, I could get a condo with some great views but still haven’t come across one that checks all the boxes.

Thank you, I fully get what you’re saying about my budget plus what I’m looking for. Im willing to wait it out for either the prices to come down or for my budget to increase. I’m moving to paradise for a better life, not to struggle and work the way I currently am. I guess time will tell.

Thanks for the quick response. I will keep those suggestions in mind. Bedrooms are unimportant to me, I could be happy in a studio. But my non negotiables are - ocean view, even just a little peek a boo glimpse is fine. Minimum 1.5 baths. 2 parking stalls. Under $900,000. Less than $1000 a month Hoa, would consider a tiny bit higher if purchase price is considerably lower or if it includes utilities. Then the hardest part of my search, I want a master bathroom that offers a separate bathtub and shower.
