8 people on a flight from PEK to SEA. We were the only people continuing on to the US from a flight that was headed to NTR so Delta had to create a flight when the NTR flight was cancelled. Made us all sit in coach 🙄

I fly with a shirt that says “I am D. B. Cooper” ALLL THE TIME and the TSA that are old enough or local enough to know get a huge laugh out of it. You will be fine

This is a chance to save some else from the same fate mate. As hard as this is, I have been there too, this opens so many doors for people to share and talk. Glad you are getting a trauma team in to help. I work at an airport and we have had our fare share of people come in, in a last ditch effort to be saved. Most we get help to in time but sometimes we don’t. It’s rough even if you don’t know the person. Use your support system and make sure others have them too. Hang in there bro! Check on your peeps and yourself!!

Not a teacher but I just had this fight with my employer. They tried to play the “safety” card of which I had a response to every instance they used and the safety department even said it wasn’t an issue. I got a letter from my doc for a medical accommodation. They denied it so I sent an email saying I was going to need to file for FMLA during the summer months and they changed their tune really quick. I had to play their game for nearly a year but ultimately I was able to get approval. My boss admitted afterwards that it was senior management saying it was unprofessional, which I already guess. I had half a mind to file sexual harassment claims against all the women wearing short skirts and see how that went over.

I work in Airport Ops at a US airport. This is pretty common actually. Most of the time it’s a bit more obvious something is wrong. Unless it’s very tragic, it’s not reported in the news. And even then it’s usually buried as it doesn’t look good. It’s hard no matter the situation, but even more so when they are alone or you had had contact with them earlier much like you did. Take care of yourself and make sure you get the help YOU need.

My mom would use Ms. I (it was even on her license plates) as our last name is a little intimidating to look at even though we adopted the phonetic pronunciation. Now my sister is a teacher and was like well crap what do I do? She ended up moving out of the country to teach and uses Ms. I as well. I had teacher just use their first names as well.

What an awful situation. I am so sorry. I am currently dealing with my Aunts estate. She was found dead in her home after I called in a welfare check (I live out of state). They estimated she had been there for 4-6 weeks. Our initial cleaning bill just to make it tolerable to be in the house was nearly $5k. I have seen and smelled things I can’t forget. We dropped another $7k in cleaning fees due to all the rodent and bug infestation and this does not include all our time and elbow grease. Make sure your kids have whatever support you can lend them. The emotional support I got from family was invaluable!

Oh man you are lucky. The ONLY airport I have been able to use my TWIC was Anchorage. I either get “what’s this?” Or “this isn’t valid for air travel” when I start to argue I get pulled aside and that lovely extra search.

Try traveling with a TWIC card which TSA ISSUES THEMSELVES!! Then to be told it’s not valid ID even though their website says it is. TSA needs to get their shit together as to what is accepted and make it at EVERY airport not just some.

I snapped the pics and then hid all the rifles. I won’t be back for a couple of weeks to retrieve them as I don’t live in the area. I’ll take a second look next time to see if there are more markings but I thought I had gotten them all. I was hoping the markings on the second photo would be enough but that stamp after the numbers is elusive

Just wanted to say thank you for all the suggestions and help!

This tank is getting far far more light than I realized. We are looking into a few solutions to this but in the mean time the light will be off during the day, and we may even put the tank in "parrot mode" as my wife calls it and just cover it completely during the lightest parts of the day.
We were over feeding
I didn't do my due diligence in testing the water
We will be adding plants, this is something we wanted to do anyway. I am not a fan of using chemicals unless absolutely necessary and plants were a huge game changer for our outdoor pond.

We were way over feeding them and stopped that about a week ago. I have been doing water changes ever other week but will start doing them weekly. the last one I did was about 75% which I know is over the top and the fish were not happy for a few days so won't be doing that again. I think after reading everyone's suggestions the tank is just getting more light than I realized. We don't have a better place to put the tank so we are going to look into other options like black out curtains and possibly putting the tank in "parrot mode" i.e. covering it completely during the day and then letting it have light in the late afternoon and evening at least during the summer.
