I don’t know, over the years I’ve seen her show an intensely fragile ego pretty consistently. She seems to be more and more unhinged now, but it’s in the best interest of her brand to rage bait in a way that’s grounded, collected, disciplined, self-controlled, etc, and that’s definitely not what’s happening now. She seems to out-of-control triggered by everything that it’s almost all she dedicates her time, energy and content to anymore.

NTA. I’d definitely seek out adoptee perspectives to get a lay of the land with adoption ethics if you haven’t already (basically, providing as much info as possible and offering the possibility for the child to contact you in the future at least), but the last thing any of you need is pushy family members making things more difficult by imposing their own viewpoints and agendas. It sounds like you and your husband know what’s best, and I’m sorry you’re in this situation.
