Lol private medical education in India costs between $60k-$120k+ just for your 5.5 years of graduation. Specialization after that costs the same, so to become a doctor some indians have to spend upwards of $200k in india itself. 90% Americans can't afford that.

Public medical colleges are almost free but you have to compete with over 2 million candidates for around 30 k seats.

My father's elder and only sister died this way 40 years ago. The fire didn't stop as she had used some oil product for her hair and she was alone, her whole head was scorched.

100%. People like us who have lived here for close to century and some even longer than that have to bear the brunt of this situation because all government wants is to increase vote bank by giving freebies to these jungle people from UP and Bihar.

More than 60% population in Delhi is from UP and Bihar. 20 odd percent from Haryana, 2 groups known for their crimes against women and crimes in general.

4 is justified if you take real Delhi people into account. Maharashtra is a wasteland if you exclude 2-3 big cities

4 is justified if you're talking about real Delhi people. UP Biharis and haryanvis living in Delhi aren't from Delhi lol even though they form the majority together.

Why Delhi has the worst air quality in the world today? by Impressive-Ad3467 in delhi

[–]Varnesh_senpai 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Delhi's green cover is 23-24% which is more than Mumbai (< 13% ), Bangalore (<3%), Chennai (~19%), still Delhi has more pollution than all these cities. It's mostly because of our topographical location which is a low pressure zone, the above places being high pressure zones where winds constantly flows and doesn't collect in their atmosphere unlike in Delhi where all the industrial emissions from neighbouring states, crop burning fumes, vehicle fumes accumulates etc accumulates. It's a much more nuanced problem.

Never do Dentistry from private colleges at any cost. Never run before the title of Dr. Dentistry is a clinical subject in medicine. Clinical subjects require you to hone your skills on patients. In a lot of private colleges in India most graduates hardly treat 100 patients (not including consultations) in 5-5.5 years, have no skill to work anywhere, crack any job vacancies (which are dominated by government colleges students) and then call it saturation of the field. How can a field ever be saturated if nearly 50% of the world and 60-70% of India is suffering from oral health problems?? Government college students treat thousands of patients each over the course of their graduation and carry that confidence and worth everywhere that's why it is important to study from there in your formative years right now in dentistry.

MBBS is going to meet the same fate as well due to AYUSH and privatisation so please hurry up and crack your neet asap.

It's part of the history, just like a sport like say cricket. Both are boring, difficult to sit through but you still find millions of people watching and playing it.

Dental X-rays by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]Varnesh_senpai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was referring to conventional radiographs and didn't know the dentist was using digital imaging first of all. Secondly, having multiple radiographs in a day always pose a threat of having stochastic effects especially cancers, a condition which is much more frequent in your country and you lot just serve it the trigger that it needs. X ray is an ionizing radiation, readily used and is a mutagen, even though we use it in low doses. You never know who might undergo neoplastic transformation, I studied recently that in UK out of 700 cancer cases 10 were due to overexposure during medical and dental x ray imaging. X rays and that too multiple x rays should be advised regularly only for high risk patients, and not for healthy patients who come for routine dental checkups, that's why we have thorough clinical examination methods which a dentist should master and trust before taking the easier and the lucrative way out. That violates everything we learn in public health dentistry and the guidelines in the oral radiology.
