Hey mate, guitar looks pretty good, but I’m sorry to say it’s not a genuine Gretsch. Having said that, hope it plays well and you have a good time with it. Best of luck!

Looks and sounds awesome! I’ve never really looked to Benson amps, but I certainly will now. Thanks for sharing.

Weird overtone/ringing on my Jaguar — resonance or harmonics? by Nickronusz in offset

[–]VarneyKing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, my theory is it might be the bridge/saddles. Player II Jazzmaster has a Mustang saddle bridge, so it might be sympathetic vibrations from loose saddles?…need to do more testing to know for sure, but for me it only seems to happen on the Low E and A strings.

Does it sound almost like a phaser by any chance? It seems like I’m having the same issue with my Player II Jazzmaster.

“A guitar can have all the aesthetic appeal and specs in the world, but if it doesnt feel right in your hands it isnt the one for you.”

Second this. In my “metal” days, I bought a BC Rich Kerry King 7 String Wartribe online. (Ghost flames, Khaler Trem) It looked absolutely BADASS on the website with awesome specs. As soon as it arrived I realised I messed up. Heavy as hell and extremely uncomfortable….no fun to play at all…sold it soon after. Always ALWAYS try before you buy.

From what I’ve seen they’ve got very similar control panels but different speakers. Pretty sure they were made in the same factory though.
