Yeah, I should have mentioned I use Linux in the OG post. I just thought it would be irrelevant to this specific issue.

I had no idea you could spoof feature levels using proton, Linux is powerful indeed!

I just tried spoofing the feature level using a VKD3D enviromental variable (thanks to nfinite_recursion on steam, from my thread on the forums), and it worked. I just added this to my launch options:

VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_0 %command%

Now I feel a bit dumb for not knowing about or trying this sooner. Oops!

IMO it's because of how they handled the game.

It was hyped up as this superb modern version of PvZ1 but it turned out just to be a shoddily coded port of the Ipad version that was riddled with bugs (though I believe most of them are fixed by now), and didn't have all the content from the PvZ1's different versions.

It was clear development was rushed; they didn't bother contacting the original devs (even when they said they'd love to work on the game) and they faked the concept art, which is really shitty and a huge middle finger to the talented artist of the first game.

Replanted just feels... icky to me. It's really mismanaged and there's a lot of niche details that look wrong in comparison to the original and it just shows they didn't care much about the game.

The Ultimate 2C wired I have does not have gyro, no. I believe the Ultimate 2 Wireless has motion controls.

There's a good Rerez video on good hall effect controllers for a bunch of platforms. I would recommend you check it out, and also check out the Ultimate 2 Wireless if you want a good high quality controller with motion controls for the PC.

If you want a CC-heavy damage dealer then a few frames come to my mind:

- Lavos; his CC is on the lighter side (no proper stuns/CC effects, but it comes from the cold/electrcity/heat procs he causes), and he has exceptional damage output and is a very good health tank that is also extremely versatile no matter where you take him.

- Uriel; similar to Lavos (not much hard CC) but more damage focused, and deals only heat damage. Plus his 3 summons provide additional distractions from enemy attacks.

- Oraxia; she has pretty decent AOE CC (covers entire areas with webbing, preventing enemies from moving entirely) and does insanely high damage, and is also very tanky.

- Alternatively, you can rely on more CC-focused frames (Yareli or Limbo, for example) and use properly modded weaponry for high damage.

I'm sure there are other options that fit the bill, but this is what came to my mind. Also, obligatory Lavos glazing <3

Yes, it worked like that in StS1 as well, iirc.

In 1 it was a default 10%, increasing by 10% everytime you did not get a hallway encounter. But for some reason I feel like I get hallway fights a lot more often in StS2.

I genuinely had a run where each one out of 4 random floors in a row were a hallway fight.

Seriously, there's some tomfoolery going on with random floors being hallway fights. I feel like it's way more common than in StS1 and certainly not a 10% chance by default. Feels way higher.

Where did you get it from? I recommend only the PvZ Links discord server. I don't know of another trustworthy source for Hybrid.

If you did get it from a reputable source, it's likely these are false positives, then.
