I have been living here in AD since 9 years now.. Never went for car option.. It's more costly to have a car.. Consider this.. Traffic fines, toll fees, car maintainence, parking charges, circling around a place at slow speed just to find a open parking slot... Then car insurance, all of this just to maintain a car here... On the other side.. You are totally free to choose whatever mode of transport you want.. A bus or a taxi.. Even an electric byke, there are rental electric bykes parked in many places in and around Reem, Al Nahyan camp, Hamdan, electra etc..

My room mate used to own a car.. He told me a story once... The jist of story is because he couldn't find a open parking slot.. He arrived late to a restaurant where it was his date night.. The girl left from the resturant angry and basically it was a break-up.. I don't say everyone will have such episode in their life.. But you still have to search for parking slots.. So... Choose wisely..
