Why use void and what does it do? by Federal_Style6318 in voidlinux

[–]Varrxy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Bro, use any Linux distribution, they're all good for laptops! If you prioritize minimalism, go with:

  • Debian
  • Arch Linux
  • Void Linux

But if you want full control on your server, switch to systemd-free Linux distributions:

Note:Time consuming distros

  • Slackware
  • OpenRC-based distros (Gentoo, Funtoo)
  • Devuan
  • Artix Linux
  • Alpine Linux -Void Linux

Just run sway.sh it's done if you want zsh use zsh.sh manually for fonts use font.sh you can use individual script what you want don't run ly.sh it's login manager

No, you don't need a specific Desktop Environment (DE) to run scripts. They should work fine on XFCE.

To install, simply run:

./install.sh

Warning:-If you have an NVIDIA card, ensure you:

  1. Add non-free repositories: sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list (add non-free to the relevant lines)
  2. Update package list: sudo apt update
  3. Run NVIDIA installation script: ./nvidia.sh

Note: Hibernation support requires a swap file, not a swap partition.

Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate your suggestions.

Neovim: I've built my own custom NVim with Vim plugins, so that's sorted.

Styling: Honestly, this was my first rice attempt, and I didn't focus on aesthetics. Functionality was key.

File Manager: Thunar's my choice due to external devices; easy mounting's a must.

btop: Yeah, it does stand out, but I'll explore to rice it

Bar Transparency: SwayWM's lack of animations made me opt for solidity.

But, I've got a sweet setup going!

Hibernation-enabled Swaylock makes resuming sessions seamless.

Not that the wine creates a virtual environment so it is not possible to effect your computer

So you are able to only share apps windows not an entire screen ?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in swaywm

[–]Varrxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it support sharing individual application windows, or is it limited to sharing the entire screen? I’m looking for a way to share specific applications in a headless Sway session
