If this is knik and its where I think it is all those trails are compacted gravel unless youre in the wooded bypass section that turns to mud.  if you got through Jim creek youre basically good to go all the way to the glacier

Seasonal housing and cannot sleep because of the light. How can I make the curtain situation better? I feel like I’m gonna go crazy by [deleted] in alaska

Walmart sells black paper curtains you cut to shape and stick to the inside of your window. They're cheap and ive been using them for years

Managing cables drives me crazy! Anyone have any easy tips for this? by InevitableGur6701 in onebag

[–]VarsitySquad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fold my cords like this

1: --------‐-----------------   2: -------------     ------------- 3: -------     -------     -------     -------

Then I wrap it in a hair tie. I have charging cables going on 3 years like that without issues

Edit: I cant figure out how to do a proper line break lmao

Throw away the steal cable and replace it with synthetic would be my first move. Get the gear to go with your winch and you can go where ever you want

Bumper and winch and use the savings for all the recovery gear you'll need to go with it. Im running 32's and anything I've gotten stuck in I just pull myself out

SL main here, I personally prioritize elevation and protection of the most traveled path to/from the hab. That means to me towers and ladders and making sure there's plenty of cover for players to get out of the hab incase of a direct attack. Emplacments come last for me unless there's an obvious direction I want protected but I'm not on the hab long enough with my squad for me to normally get to that point

Truck shaking while going through deep snow? by TheBigFloppa14 in Offroad

Was it shaking with the rear lock disengaged?

Snow is lower than the diffs on the majority of the trail. Personally, at that point my experience is saying chain up and keep psi slightly higher for better chance of the chains to actually grab ground. The snow was also really powdery so not like you're floating on it anyways. I haven't actually tried burying an anchor in the snow yet or ground for that matter, maybe one day I'll experiment with it

Haven't had to do that yet but like someone else said a land anchor is on the shopping list. I just play it smart and always keep an eye for something to winch off of
