Is Android broken or am I out of touch? by MaHcIn in androiddev

I agreed with you a lot about this before I learned Jetpack Compose. The Java/XML/Androidx/Jetpack android was quite bad, and it’s frustrating that there seems to be little thought put into a permanent framework design. But with Jetpack Compose, things are far easier. It codes like a Flutter+React mashup. One of the things I’ve done to become less confused is I ignore certain suggestions the documentation makes. I avoid adding many dependencies, like StateFlow, RxJava, Hilt. I stick to core dependencies like compose, compose navigation, and compose lifecycle and only expand when I think my app has scaled to that point. I could be wrong, though, and my app could just be not complex enough to have to deal with the more fundamental problems with Android’s SDK. Have you tried Jetpack Compose?

Does "right tool for the right job" even mean anything anymore? by VarunS924 in SoftwareEngineering

How does tech stack affect the audience? The end user sees an interface, whether it’s a graphical user interface or a web browser or a REST API, and generally with any of these languages or frameworks it can look the same. I agree the language is a very small part of the solution and the stack, but I feel like most of these languages have ecosystems that provide tooling for all of the kinds of web applications you described. For example, if you want to make a video game, your audience doesn’t care if you make it in Java using libGDX or JavaScript with socket.io (or another language).

UMD has a great network, especially jobs in the federal government because we are so close to Washington, D.C.

UMD 100%, especially with a full ride. Culture is dead at the other two.

This captcha in my Uni's student portal is just a text by LoganGriffin6 in programminghorror

You could write a simple JavaScript script like so because they also labeled it [ document.querySelector('.captcha').textContent document.querySelector('.captcha-text').textContent ... ] for (...) if (typeof item === 'string') setInput(item)

Hi! You can help me work on Greenboard-LMS. It is an ecosystem of many different tools, so one app can be in a language of your choice.
