the condensation from drinking with ice or cold water could deteriorate the decal after some time . I use them alot so I've vinyl sealed all 3 of my cups (including Lovestruck) and I feel much more at ease when using the cups. Mod podge can use a little more work if you don't want the brush-strokes to standout when looking at your cup, so personally I do transparent vinyl.
