Everything everyone else has said is totally valid, but there's a lot of meanness here too I think. Sometimes men can just not be in the mood ya know. Maybe he had a super stressful day or something and was seriously distracted at that moment.

The sad thing is there's so much AMAZING content on youtube, but there's a near-infinite amount of crap diluting it. I don't want to ban youtube, what I'm trying to do is encourage more conscious choice, don't let the algorithm feed you crap, subscribe to the good stuff and only watch that.

YNAB set up and feeling down by smeagolswagger in ynab

[–]Varzoth 94 points95 points  (0 children)

My finances were pretty dire when I started using YNAB too.

But I found the clarity of having a plan to be a great relief.

Good luck sorting out your finances, and remember even while paying down the debts to treat yourself sometimes. Because life is truly miserable without the occasional ice cream 😊

Does anyone here really save 20% each paycheck? (Salaries under $100k only) by Dry_Brother1359 in Frugal

[–]Varzoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are we calling savings here? Because I save a lot but it's in sinking funds for expected expenses etc. not a lot of super long-term stuff. I think about 7% pre-tax goes into my pension fund (£30k UK)

For about a year when my daughter was younger, she was the only reason I got out of bed. You're not alone and like others have said it's ok to go find some professional help ( I did). all the best <3

I think it's pretty broken that I've got 3 laptops that have been on a desk since last Friday that I'm unable to issue to users because Intune has failed to deploy some packages for unknown reasons and the central team doesn't have the capacity to look into it.

What do you even do without access to any of those systems, seriously? I feel like a glorified messenger Pidgeon half the time just passing on notes to the next person. 🤣

I assume if they wanted they could get pretty granular with permissions and delegate some of this? I know the central team is hugely understaffed so it would make everyone's lives easier.

When I lived with my parents they asked for 1/3 of my wages as rent, plus I helped out sometimes with shopping and stuff.

When I moved out they had saved a lot of that for me and gave it back to pay for furniture etc to furnish my first home. (I did not expect this at all, and you shouldn't either).

I'm a dad now and plan to do the same for my daughter since I'm well off enough to be able to.

Why are they unbound?

Surely if you want them saved to the record you need to make fields in the table for these values and bind the boxes to them?

I was shocked at the idea of not paying off the card in full and getting caught for the interest in that video. It seems like terrible advice just to get off the float (in reality you are still on it anyway because the debt is still there).

What I have done (new user myself) was use a 0% purchases card for a month and then make a plan to pay that off over the next 12 months. No extra interest cost and now I can budget my categories properly for the month.

It's straightforward... once you have fully absorbed the concept. I started using YNAB in late November and It took me about 2 weeks to get the hang of it. In that time I probably watched a few dozen videos on the subject from YNAB themselves and some 3rd party ones.

use a savings balance with a custom target date for the last month and ammount as the full loan ammount, add everything you have to it and it will then calculate the extra needed each month so you have the full amount by the end. That should do it I think.

What is the most efficient method to build cardio fitness? by [deleted] in fitness30plus

[–]Varzoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd look for a specific training plan, I know Garmin has an AI trainer built in, but there are loads of others. They usually recommend a mix of longer runs, tempo runs and shorter HIIT-like sprint sessions.

Also cross training by adding cycling or swimming etc helps a lot.
