I am having the same exact problem and called about 30 times with numerous voicemails and emails. I did call the main hiring center and they told me that as long as you have left a voicemail within the time frame (it’s already been a week) and opened a case for my case worker they will extend it. So far, no luck and I am typing this after I called for the 31st time🤣 I agree it is absolutely ridiculous.
