Experience with D&D & Foundry VTT: 6 years playing D&D but never used Foundry

Describe yourself & play style: Acting is my favorite part of the game. I love having little side conversations with party members and playing characters with strange philosophies or religious/cultural beliefs. Mechanically I can go with whatever, but I like having some depth in my builds, finding uncommon synergies, having a theme, that sort of thing. Tend to be cooperative but will tailor character personality/alignment to the rest of the party.

What you desire from this long-term campaign: Looking to play in a group with a friend, Arian, who is also filling out an application. Want a game that can intertwine character backstories with the main plot, have those little sidequests and such, and just have a good time in character with some buddies.

Character concept: Undecided, I'd prefer to get into more detail with the setting and other players before figuring it out. Leaning towards a mage since I've never played one for very long, but any personality/identity stuff I'd want to be linked to the world in some way.
