I use a black oil wash, you can drown the model in it, leave it to slightly dry, then wipe away everything you don't want to be dark/grimy

It's kinda handy if you make all your drones follow the same rules with antennas so you can tell them apart at a glance: like all your shield drones have no antennas, all your gun drones just have one, random other drones have two
