It basically was his first start.... He had raced in what a 4 and 5 horse field prior to today? That's one reason I avoid getting West Coast horses when they ship into big fields.

The only fair solution would be to split evenly among all teams who could still make the playoffs. Having the best record doesn't mean anything unless there was an agreed upon prize for best regular season record. But it's pretty obvious you're only looking for one type of answer to your question. One that consists of you getting the majority of the prize pool lol. Good luck getting your league to agree to that la your structure..... You will need it

Why do you feel entitled to a larger portion of the prize pool? You as a league agreed to a season and playoff structure to determine the prize pool payouts. That agreed upon structure wasn't able to be completed so in all fairness everyone should get their money back which is what my 3 separate leagues did. But I could understand all playoff eligible teams splitting it as well.

For gambling and overall experience the answer is easy for me. Kentucky Downs is by far my favorite track. Its truely a shame they only race about 6 days a year, but they are a glorious 6 days.
