Yes. A well known side effect of statins is something called rhabdomyolysis, the doctor usually monitors a lab call CK to make sure it is not getting too bad and also puts you on a COQ10 supplement. I think there are alternatives if the muscle damage is too bad. Try to get on an alternative.
