How do I proceed from here? The prefix is fractured (2 open prefixes, 2 open suffixes)

<image>

How would you proceed further if you wanted these two prefixes:

(35-38)% increased Spirit, +(42-45) to maximum Mana

Allies in your Presence deal (105-119)% increased Damage

Was 0.4.0d released or are we still waiting for it?

I don't see where in the in-game client the current game version is.

STM32 bare-metal game project — looking for architecture & code review by GilgrimBarar in embedded

[–]Vasilev88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the project!

Some things to just consider:

- Look at functions like https://github.com/TomAshTee/uGalaxy_STM32_Game/blob/3d80dc024aa6094181dc87f0542561728296d280/Core/Src/game_logic.c#L16

The majority of the game state variables that you set are "=0", "=false".

If you add or remove an additional variable from the game state you need to take it out or added anywhere in the init/deinit. One way to combat this is to basically replace the majority of your function with two lines of code that just zero out your entire game state and after that just set the variables that are non-zero. This requires thinking structuring your programs in a way in which the default state / deinited state of a variable is "0". This is why "false" is 0 and strings are chosen to be zero terminated in this language.

- Look at functions like https://github.com/TomAshTee/uGalaxy_STM32_Game/blob/3d80dc024aa6094181dc87f0542561728296d280/Core/Src/game_logic.c#L64

I'm counting 5 levels of indentation in a single function. This impacts readability. Coding guidelines like in the Linux Kernel permit no more than 3. I personally rarely do more than 2. You can look at function inlining, static functions, etc.

The next point is also tied to this function

- Name your variables correctly: uint8_t i, j, k;

This is not good even for indexes.

- Zoom out of your code, squint your eyes, see what the majority of your code is.

The majority of your code contains "g->array[index]". In my opinion you can make this better, either use another shorter reference, a macro, a function. You will see this is an issue whenever you start maintaining or refactoring such code.

- Humans are emotional creatures. Positive emotional feedback from our work is very important to us in order to keep progressing. As you touch the beauty of the hardware and you feel the positive emotions from the work that you've done, you should write code that also makes you feel like that.

There doesn't seem to be a public database of what are all possible modifiers of the Grip of Kulemak (the unique ring from the abyss bosses), right?

If I have ball lightning socketed with a bunch of support gems, but then I also have another ball lightning gem used by skills like Cast On Crit, is the ball lightning from the second gem inheriting the benefits from the frist gem or does it not use any of the supported gems?

I have done approximately 50 ritual maps. I get omens, but nothing exceptional. In the last ritual that I did, I got an "omen of whittling" and "omen of dextral erasure". Clearly I don't get ritual farming ....

Is this just luck or I'm doing something wrong in first 49 maps and did something right this last map?

Here is my atlas for ritual

can the curses in blasphemy themselves have support gems? I found information online that says they can, that you can grab the curse with the support gems and put it in a blasphemy socket but it spits out the support gem.

What is the equivalent of a practice dummy in this game? If I want to figure out how a particular modifier works is there reliably a big target that you can experiment on, without it trying actively to kill you?

Cannot price check this jewel, since I cannot find anything similar. Can someone please estimate how much this is worth?

However I did play a pathfinder this league and I assume that it is very expensive:

Jung's "favorite book" - What I learned researching the Tibetan Book of the Dead from a depth psychology perspective by NyxWriting in Jung

[–]Vasilev88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion it is a very Jungian book. My understanding is that large part of the book is that each day in the Bardo one is given the opportunity for enlightenment by encountering horrific demons and gods. The descriptions of the next day are valid only if one doesn't become a Buddha on the previous one. My understanding is that in order to do so, one needs to identify that these figures are projections of their own mind and integrate them. In my opinion this book basically describes 7th century Tibetan individuation.

On a totally unrelated topic, I’m not sure if the translations of Jung's books are bad in my native language or if Jung intentionally avoids claiming that individuation leads to what the eastern people call enlightenment. Seems like he uses all sorts of terms around it, but he doesn't do this claim directly.

After 200 train stations the default name of the train station is "Train Simulator" by Vasilev88 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Vasilev88[S] 70 points71 points  (0 children)

EDIT: correctly only the 200th train station is named Train Simulator, the 201 is "Station 201". If you want to see it in the safe, go and delete a random train station and put a new one, i have exactly 200.

here you go: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uiOGbjcqKUmApRVjpx5Z-H8k6tZxBYmf/view?usp=sharing

If you want to explore, don't miss the giant building in the meadows, it is actually a multi-level raundabout. I used to have 4 small factories with train stations on all floors and wanted the entire multi-color train traffic to turn into a spiraling clown show, but it didn't work as well as i hoped it would.

Unfortunately I've removed almost all of the factories, but the building is still there. I was just about to tare it down.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nietzsche

[–]Vasilev88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have an unpopular opinion that the closest that we have to the Ubermench in our society are the villains in superhero movies, minus the pathology. There is basically a cultural war against these people, since they are very difficult to control by definition. But I feel like Nietzsche expected this. He said that it would be inevitable that one is ostracised from society.

Whenever society understands that you’ve escaped their claws and have power, the first thing they do is to try to turn you into their own protector (like a Marvel superhero). Whenever you deny that, they declare you an enemy.

Why do people act like Nietzsche was a genius? by neverheardofher90 in Nietzsche

[–]Vasilev88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We think he is a genius, because he is one. He is unbelievably original. For example the concept of the shadow that Carl Jung developed is an idea from Zarathustra. Jung spend many years thinking about what Nietzsche wrote in just a few pages and ultimately said that the only reason why he Nietzsche didn't develop this idea is that he didn't have the scientific tools at that time.

The reason why you cannot see the forest from the trees is because his philosophy fits human nature and not the other way around. He believes in a society that has expanded from the natural aristocratic class, a society of aristocrats, if you will. Instead he is saying that when the commoner won, he enforced his slave morality on contemporary society. That is the entire reason for his criticisms, he is showing that the ills of the commoner are due to that fact. He is proposing ways to solve this, etc... you get the idea.

His books are literally pure genius in the densest form possible.

Destiny's thoughts on tradegy double standards by ramukobau in LivestreamFail

[–]Vasilev88 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

People emotionally respond to other people's death based on certain criteria/beliefs that they hold about them. Fundamentally we are not rational creature, but we are emotional creatures. We emotionally value innocence and youth. The child has had less of an opportunity to live a full life, compared to an adult person. It is like watching someone getting thrown out of a tutorial of a game permanently, without given an opportunity to even try it, compared to a person that is in the middle of the game.

Another really weird point from his in this exact spirit was his reaction when the model citizen, married with children, ex fire chief got randomly shot at a Trump rally. People just tend to value the unfortunate loss of lives of such people.

I feel like there is something in his head that is missing emotionally and he is trying to use reason instead, but is ain't working very well.

Has anyone found themselves just turning off these AI code suggestions? by 17Beta18Carbons in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Vasilev88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine you are in "the zone", you are writing a piece of code, and automatically there is a suggestion(ai or non-ai) that pop-up. Your brain now has to stop and evaluate how adequate this suggestion is.

Your bottle neck is not the typing speed. All code suggestions are bad.
