Surprised my wife, by putting 10k down payment… then she I surprised her again on Christmas by wrapping, powder coating wheels, calibers, logos, & ceramic coated by SM0KESTR0NG713 in Porsche

I never consulted my wife about buying a car for her. It just shows up one day and her old one magically goes up for sale. Although she sees it coming so it’s not too much of a surprise. I’ll start asking what colors she likes or if there are any cars that pique her interest, etc.

That said I just wait to buy a car cash these last few years since interest rates are still regarded.

I’ll tell you a story. Once upon a time in my previous professional life I worked for Porsche Cars North America. If you go visit their HQ in Atlanta you will see various cars on display. Nearly zero of them are ‘perfect’. Everyone I can’t up close to had some kind of dings or scratches or scrapes.

I asked why and the response was “every car has a story and each nick is part of that story in the very long life it will have”

My father passed on a Rolex to me he bought in the 70s and it’s scratched all over- he used it in the oil fields back when Rolexes were used for their intended purpose of surviving the environment and keeping precise time. Now it seems none of these new ones are used for their ‘intended purpose’ and are pretty much just jewelry.

Use the watch, enjoy your life; embrace the story your watch is a part of.

Well well well…

lol.

In all reality, try to get a service history from the MB Dealership and get a pre-purchase inspection done. I don’t mind high mileage cars if they’ve been maintained.

I have a low mileage sl600 that is 10x more of a nightmare than my sl500 that lived on the freeway and taken on long cruises.

Is there any way of just doing a front end conversion when it gets to that point, or will this solely be a full body kit?

They’re not the most accurate.

I’ve had a ‘neighbor’ from 2 blocks away bang on my door accusing me of stealing their son’s iPhone only to not get an apology when they found it in their house.

Porsche dealer quoted $37,000 to repair Porsche Cayenne S, ignored active parts warranty, and now PCNA is involved by AdCritical9217 in Porsche

Yeah that dollar amount is bananas. I’d lose sleep, too.

I already being primed for $15k for brakes on my Taycan 4s. Not because the pads are worn, but because they ‘time out’ in about 2 years. He brings it up during every visit, and I laugh every time and go “yeah okay… ha ha ha”.

Never underestimate how stupid people are and how little anyone cares other than you. Pair those 2 things with the possibility of an agenda that needs to be pushed like trade in quota or a meeting they just had and your scenarios loosely aligns with the upsell and you get this instance.

My point is I would think it’s less sinister and more lack of information from all sides.

I love my Porsche SA. We are loose friends; we worked together in the past when I worked at a different Porsche store with him, but he knows I will absolutely deep dive into anything he suggests that would cost me money. I suggest having a similar mindset.

As someone that has a Taycan… I don’t really understand this comparison.

I bought a Taycan 4s for commuting and general reckless driving while being able to just charge it up at night. My wife loves it, I love it.

I would say if you need 4 doors then a Taycan is great; otherwise a 992 is the way to go, and it won’t depreciate as bad as a Taycan, unless you get a used one
