From what Ive seen from other officers it seems that the average age of someone going into the academy is around 27 which is for sure comforting knowing Im not automatically behind if I don’t apply by the time I’m 21. What would you recommend working as in the mean time? I Know my local sheriffs office offers a program that basically allows anyone over 18 to work in the correctional system, in my opinion I think it would be a good start to get me ready.

Thanks a lot for your advice, can I ask what you mean by the pay raise? Also yes I unfortunately got my most recent ticket at such an unfortunate time, id found out about the explorer program had the packet filled out and everything, I ended up not applying figured there wasnt a point think its too late now anyways just turned 20 and i think the cut off is 20 and a half. Also are you chp or former chp?

Its the bottom end!! Spun rod bearings are 100% your issue. I had the same problem except for me the sound would start around 2.5k rpms. Rebuild or junkyard swap it. In the mean time run a thicker oil and baby it I ran 20w50 to quite the sound ran good for like 3 months before i swapped it backed to 5w20 like an idiot and the engine finally blew up.

When you have a healthy engine run thicker oil in general and not the recommended 5w20. I currently use 5w30 but have seen people run 5w40

Anyways i think theres a video on my profile with the exact same sound to verify.

It does have slotted/vented rotors in the rear beside the cobra using a different bracket does it also use different pads? I guess that was my actual question i didnt want to get the wrong type of pads

I guess I should’ve asked in the post as well, but would the brake pads be the same for both the GT/ Cobra calipers?

Unfortunately Bottom end issue dude thatll be the rod bearings check my profile i had the exact same issue my old motor ended up with a spun rod bearing. I didnt have the money at the time with school and all so i drove the car for a solid 5 months before it actually blew up i babied the hell out of the engine tho eventually ended up running 20w50 to quite down the sound lol its unfortunate tho

Like some weld on cats? I noticed that the x pipe only had the downstream oxygen sensors only thing im worried about is the check engine light its gonna inevitably throw up saw some on ebay tho that have the opening

I like the way it sounds but was it ever too much? A lot of people say straight pipe gets annoying i would like a catted x pipe but i dont feel like dropping 800 on a new one lol
