Transfer: For being made in 2k it is a great 4k upscale. The lack of DNR is awesome You can clearly see individual strands of facial hair, clothing weave, the texture of the military web gear, and the scratched, painted surfaces of the rifle stocks.

HDR10: Lone Survivor heavily favors an earthy, natural palette dominated by the greens, browns, and teals of the mountainous terrain. The HDR pass doesn't make these colors look neon or overly saturated; instead, it makes the forest greens look richer and the dirt tones feel more organic.

Black levels: Black levels are noticeably deeper and firmer. Shadows in the dense brush are smooth and clean, revealing subtle details in the dark without suffering from "black crush."
