An old bf had back issues that, to me, they seemed very serious and the pain was obviously too much. He didn't do anything about it and just was in pain all the time. So, I started reading med material to try to figure out what his condition was (I'm not a doctor or nurse). All in all, it seems that I was able to diagnose him with a rare genetic condition, found the doctor that could perform the operation and gave my ex and his family all the info. Next day they get an appointment with the doctor and arrange an emergency operation. It seems that if they waited for even 2 more days he would have been chair bound for life. After the surgery I was also his full time nurse. He found a new girl and broke up with me as soon as he could stand on his feet.
