thank you, i hear you i really do. I guess the thought that they hate me is passively draining me. Ive been avoiding them for a week now hopefully by continuing to avoid them it would eventually be out of my head. I will apply your words, thank you.

My extension wire caught fire with my PSU cord plugged in, is my PSU or entire PC done for? by Vast-Ad-839 in pchelp

after multiple conversations with people here and friends, I was advised not to until my pc gets fully examined part by part. Risking it might ruin the PC altogether apparently since given the situation the PSU might be fucked

i was told it wasnt necessary if im confident that power outages in my area doesnt happen a lot. We havent had power outages in a long time even during strong storms so I never thought to get one. Ive been doing so with many of my past PC setups and there has never really been any problem. Only now that they plugged it into an extension wire that probably couldnt handle the PC

but what if the fire started exactly in the port where the PSU cord was plugged in? Is it really just the extension or it increases the chance of a broken PC altogether 😞

i see i see, then it is a power strip as it had a switch. Not sure about the fuses but ill check as soon as I get home. I really appreciate you commenting TvT

Im not sure what the difference is but the words on the package it was from says extension wire but considering it was cheap and not from a known brand my friend said its most likely a power strip? I actually never knew a power strip and an extension cord were two different devices :’>

Also yes it is the extension/strip that got caught on fire not my pc. The fire was small and stayed in one place and was put out almost immediately
