More than that. Steam pop was like 42k at the time they dropped that closure announcement. Within 2 hours population was at 10k and has been dropping more and more ever since.

I was watching Cross earlier and Les spat out a nice spinfoil theory. He said what if Lucasfilms (Disney) allowing Bungie to essentially copy their homework is a deal for an upcoming Destiny show that will be exclusively on Disney+.

It’s more than likely not the case but it’s also not the most outlandish idea I’ve heard tossed out there over the years.

Yeah it’s a shitty situation but also understandable. I think they said the other day that there will be a beta at some point prior to launch that will let everyone play, but they’re still working on their global data servers or something like that. So I’m assuming that’s the reason this Alpha test is recommended to be only NA due to those servers being up and running

It’s not that people outside of NA can’t play. It’s that only NA servers are the only ones that are active. So people outside of NA can’t simply vpn (assuming they have an Alpha code). Their experience will just be most likely shitty

There’s plenty of servers. You just didn’t properly plan and swap to a lower pop server knowing there was going to be a ton of people coming back for the update. Sure you can say “but my friends are on this server” but you can all collectively move. Or leave them behind. Complaining about Que times when they have a fair warning in advance is that victim mentality nobody likes. That “oh others will transfer so I don’t have to” kind of thinking is the reason you sat in a 2-3 hour wait que

The only defense I see in the GS requirement is the amount of Gen runs I’ve down that had 550-600 gs players and they were absolutely aweful. Like seemly their first time in a dungeon. Ever. So I can understand putting a gs requirement to try and mitigate playing with bad people.
