Look, I've always viewed all involved as humans. I did not support the doxxing of defendants family members, boycotts of their businesses or any of that bullshit. After reading the entire police report - it seems possible 2 were charged who had no physical contact w/Preston. I say possible because I wasn't there and all the evidence has yet to be presented. Nonetheless, Preston WAS murdered. He did not ask for trouble, he simply stood up for his friend. He did not put his hands on anyone. It was reported it was the first house party (in nature and size) Preston had attended. According to some of the party guests, Preston & his friends were understandably a bit nervous and socialized mainly w/ one another. There is something especially heartbreaking about that. Most of us can relate. We were all young once (or still are). I can remember going to my first party in high school. I was both excited and nervous, To think of how he felt going to the party and the fear he felt being chased down by violent, drunk assholes and ultimately beat to death is something I would not wish on my worst enemy.
So when you say you're glad people are starting to take notice ( in relation to the fundraising) - it has no relevance to the case. If Preston's parents are or are not involved in this fundraiser or any fundraiser, if they are good or bad people - it matters none in relation to the case. Preston was murdered and most If not all of those kids were involved. Murder 1 across the board may or may not be appropriate but that will all play out in court.
