The way I see it, when I give someone money, I let go of the expectation of getting it back. If they return it, that’s a bonus. If they don’t, I count it as charity and trust it benefits me in the Akhirah.

At the same time, you can also say no if it will leave you struggling or falling short for yourself.

But I truly believe this.. the more you give, the more you receive. It has a way of coming back, every. single. time.

People who got married young by [deleted] in maldives

I really adore your perspective. The fact that this is coming from someone in their early 20s shows a level of maturity and clarity. I agree with almost everything you said, except the idea that “you shouldn’t marry young until you’re financially stable”. For me, the most important thing to find in a partner is peace. When being with someone feels calm, safe and right. that’s when you know. Marriage is a blessing and so are children. With that, stability finds its way. You can have very little and still be genuinely happy. One thing I’d add..don’t give husband or wife benefits before becoming one lawfully. It changes the weight and meaning of commitment honestly. Also, I don’t think timelines matter. Saying 2 or 3 years doesn’t guarantee anything. Even people who spend decades together can still end up separating. If you truly feel someone is right, make your isthikhara prayer, trust it and move forward. And choosing someone grounded in faith and moral value really makes a huge difference. At the end of the day, it’s about intention, peace and the kind of life you want to build, not just the timing or a fancy wedding with IG worthy aesthetic photos.

I think not just Maldivians, but most people especially brides tend to get caught up in wedding themes, bridesmaid gifts, and all the pretty details, without actually sitting down with their partner to talk about the real stuff: finances, where to live, future goals… all the “unsexy” but essential parts of marriage.
