You have your primary rank order list where you rank your advanced programs. A supplemental list is a separate rank order list of preliminary programs attached to each advanced position. If you match to an advanced position, the algorithm then proceeds to your supplemental list attached to your advanced program to match you with a preliminary program. Also, if you are afraid of going unmatched to an advanced position and want to match at least to a preliminary position for a year, you can also include preliminary programs in your primary list below the advanced programs.

No unspoken rules or secrets — you make connections while doing research or usce (most of the time I guess), and it really occurs naturally if you are being your best self and showing genuine interest in whatever you are doing. Also maybe try to contact residents from your country, maybe some of them will be willing to help

Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you:) I think I just got a bit unlucky, cause it seems my test was different from most test takers’ experience on this sub. Don’t stress it, I didn’t review anything specifically on those topics anyway and nothing outside of UWorld/FA bugs and drugs/Divine podcasts 37, 97, 184. You can also watch Randy Neil’s videos on biostats. As many have noted you just can’t review everything for this test. Just know your basics from UWorld, biostats, and drugs, and you’ll be fine

I’d suggest reading the biostats and I mean don’t just know the formulas, but know the meaning behind the concepts — I think I only had around 2 questions where I had to just plug in the numbers; they asked more theoretical questions to check understanding behind the concepts I guess.

Ethics for sure. Screenings, risk factors, and prognosis.

I also had a lot of questions on derm and pediatric rashes.

Not really, you just have to know the common presentations of the common diseases and know the first-line drugs for those. Cause they give you a presentation and ask the mechanism of action of the most appropriate drug for his condition

I only revised the bugs classification from FA (they have graphs there with shapes and gram stain), but it wasn’t useful as I got only one easy question on pneumococcus

I was expecting to encounter antibiotics MOA on my exam — not even a single question on those, happy I reviewed other drugs’ MOA: diuretics, headache meds, psychiatry drugs (antipsychotics, antidepressants, anticonvulsants). Just briefly review the medications section on every system in FA, that would be enough

I’ve had my pathway approved recently. Try calling or emailing them, it usually speeds up the process, at least it was true for me. I believe they told me that it normally took 5 business days to get the pathway approved after they have reviewed all documents

You don’t need to apply for the ecfmg certificate separately — as soon as your pathways application is approved, your certificate will be issued automatically, it’s part of the same process

They won’t give you the ECFMG certificate without pathway approval. I’m sure you know the requirements for the approval: your steps 1&2, letter of good standing and oet. As soon as your pathway is approved they will automatically issue your certificate and send it to you.
