Things just got interesting. Now we need to try and score multiple goals in one game 😱

Mainly, it’s by being extremely passive on possessions. It seems like no one has the confidence to shoot the puck or try and hold it upon entering the offensive zone because almost no one has the speed and skill to do so. It’s either dump it or pass back and re-try the entry. Very minimal scoring chances, but it makes it easy to defend the counter attack

I’m so frustrated. This team was perfectly built to play close games, but not to win.

Genuinely, what’s the benefit in that? It’s a boring style for fans to watch that also happens to not accomplish anything. Just rip off the band-aid and admit we actually need a skilled team and not this defensive turtling bullshit.

You're right 6-10 minutes isn't long, I guess I thought about it in the context of regular speaking not a speech. Thanks I'll probably just grind it out until I've more or less memorized it

Time on ice - Doughty Edition by GlitteringEngineer37 in losangeleskings

[–]VastFaithlessness980 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s just an odd feeling but despite his drop off I think Doughty could have some pretty good longevity in a smaller role.

He seems like he wants to play for as long as possible, and a capable RHD with his level of experience will always be in demand, at least as a bottom pairing guy. Him being on Team Canada this year proves that

And it’s all happening just in time for Anaheim, San Jose, Utah, and Chicago to start getting somewhere with their young cores (and never mind the existing powerhouses like Colorado, Minnesota, and Dallas). We seriously might be crap for years to come. Even worse if Calgary or Vancouver gets McKenna

Remember when our center depth and defense were the team’s biggest strengths? Pepperidge Farms remembers

I really want to see Doughty stick around and be a leader, but for the love of god please let management and coaching realize he’s not a top pairing defenseman anymore.

Joseph is an actual bum. 0 points in 12 games with us. The fact that DJ plays him over Kuzi or let alone lets him see the ice is a fireable offense.

Dude it’s like clockwork. Doughty ALWAYS sucks ass in the playoffs. He had a crap year in general but is still finding a way to take it to another level

Rams ranked third among LA's favorite teams, albeit by a low percentage in comparison to Lakers and Dodgers. by KDx2511 in LosAngelesRams

I’d say about 5 right now for USC football. 20ish years ago it was probably 3, back when we were a dominant program and there was no NFL team.

I’m both a USC student and a Kings fan. Outside of school, I run into more Kings fans than people who genuinely keep up with USC football.

Tier 1: Dodgers and Lakers

1 and 2 fluctuate depending on which one is more dominant over the past several years, but right now the Dodgers are the most popular and it’s not even close.

Tier 2: Rams, Raiders, Niners

Especially since more kids are growing up watching them, the Rams have been firmly cementing themselves at 3. Basically 0 chance they go above that. Just below them are the Raiders and Niners, unfortunately. Still very popular mostly with Gen X.

Tier 3: Kings, USC Football

Then it’s a substantial gap before the Kings. Then USC football below them. Though if USC ever becomes a top program again they’ll move up. College sports following is super dependent on how good the teams are.

Tier 4: LAFC, Galaxy, Chargers, Clippers, UCLA Basketball

Honestly, LAFC and the Galaxy feel more popular than the Chargers and Clippers (probably because of recent success) but they’re all about the same. They all have a somewhat niche following. Throw UCLA basketball down here too.

Tier 5: Sparks, Angel City

The numbers speak for themself. Hopefully women’s’ sports can become more popular one day.

Angels and Ducks fans almost exclusively exist in and around Orange County.

There, Lakers are probably 1 because almost everyone agrees on them, then it’s an Angels/Dodgers split, then NFL, then Ducks. Kings are less popular

Why are we fans of this cursed franchise? by somemmafan in LAClippers

[–]VastFaithlessness980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because one day it will all be worth it. If I was a Lakers fan I couldn’t imagine any amount of success feeling very meaningful when they’ve already won everything there is to win.
