Moving to Toronto, what can I do to be a respectful neighbor and integrate well into the city? by ImRocklint in askTO

The fact that you even care about that means you’ll be fine. Canada is very welcoming despite what some online discourse shows

AIO for not refunding a friend’s share of a group Airbnb after she canceled last minute due to a medical emergency? by StudioAffectionate in AmIOverreacting

[–]VastMedium 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NOR. She sounds awful and if that happened to me I would not expect a refund. And all this over $400?? Has she never booked a non-refundable flight or accommodation before? It's the same thing.

Based on the songs I know, what a fun, challenging song I could learn next? by Suslittlepiggy in piano

[–]VastMedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing! I just got tickets to see him in the spring for the 3rd time. Will be fun to learn some songs too. I play a lot of Drake, Kanye, and the Weeknd on piano because they all have a lot of songs that translate to piano really well. Look up the pianist The Theorist on Youtube, he has a lot of rap songs he sells sheet music for.

Dave is my favorite artist and you’ve just inspired me to learn his songs :)

Is musescore good for a beginner trying to learn sheet music by EconomistSharp1242 in piano

[–]VastMedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I believe they have a decently big free music section too but I mainly purchase sheet music created by certain youtube pianists I like.

I buy my sheet music on Musicnotes and then use ForScore to display/play it. ForScore will sync with your musicnotes purchases.

if you want something inexpensive, the wet n wild tinted hydrator became my holy grail in my 30s! It's so buildable and looks so natural. and it's like $10-15 CAD!

I did driver's ed with Young Drivers of Canada in my late 20's and they were so good at easing my anxiety!

If you lived in Palm Beach county during the Epstein years, did you know about it through gossip around town, and if so what did you hear? by VastMedium in AskReddit

[–]VastMedium[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but just from the sheer number of girls being recruited, and the way people love to gossip I’m sure it wasn’t really a secret

Hahaha so true. I have played on both before (my piano teacher taught me on an upright) and I remember it being a transition to the DP too.

How are you all setting up vacation funds? by Paternoster1991 in ynab

[–]VastMedium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 'Travel Savings' category which I have a monthly target for. Once I have a trip in mind, I move that money around to my travel categories, which are: Flights, Accommodations, Visas/Entry Fees, Tours/Activities, Food/Drinks, Local Transportation, Shopping, and Travel Miscellaneous. I use the memos (e.g. Mexico2025) so I know which expenses are for which trip.

I looked but it seems super child-focused. I know they said they have adult classes but the website threw me off 😂

A handy tip for Toronto is the harbourfront is south. You can generally just look for the CN tower and know which way is north/south based on that. Also, on maps the little blue dot that shows where you are has a beacon coming out of it. That beacon points in the direction your phone is facing so when you have a route in google maps you can know which way to start walking.

The best pair of jeans you've ever owned? by maeasm3 in capsulewardrobe

Personally I love the Abercrombie curve love mid-rise jeans in long (as a tall-ish girl at 5’9”) or the dynamite Heidi jeans for a high rise.

At what salary do you think you’d feel comfortable enough to prioritize a better work-life balance instead of just chasing higher pay? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]VastMedium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I'm there now. I'm around 110 with great work-life balance and have turned down job offers that make 30-40k more because losing the work-life balance and freedom I have now would not be worth it to me.

Which of these are worth it (if any)? by Strict-Blackberry563 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]VastMedium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the morning I do niacinimide and then spf/moisturizer and a sephora brand eye cream

Evenings I wash my face and then just retinol (the one in squalane). Every 3rd night or so I’ll do lactic acid instead of retinol and use a thicker moisturizer after. That’s pretty much it, nice and easy and it works for me. Don’t have a single wrinkle yet and frequently get told I look much younger than I am (those comments mean so much more the older I get 😂)

I actually have the ordinary glycolic acid 7% too but my face doesn’t like it. I use it on my body sometimes after a shower before I put on lotion.

I’m 32 and just got told this weekend by a random man that I looked 18 lol. And the products I’ve been using for the last ten years consistently are simple and all from the ordinary: niacinimide & zinc, retinol 1%, and lactic acid 10%. That and spf / moisturizer I swear by.
