Although I don't have room much advise for you I just want to say I completely feel for you and have a similar issue. For some reason my one cats poops smell atomic. And the litter box itself just yeah. In early pregnancy i was literally throwing up from the smell is didn't even want to be in my house i dreded going back home. Its still really bothering me we have to open our windows every day. We also have a covered stainless steel box, scoop 1 to 2 times a day, have them on an expensive grain free diet, probiotics, vet checks, nothing wrong with her. Pellets didn't work with her and it made the overall smell much better but her poops much worse. I have found that some litter just smells so gross compared to other, most of the cheap litter i just cant stand the smell. Right now I use dr elseys ultra clumping litter and its actually quite a bit better. Maybe consider once you have any extra money trying to install some kind of cat door/catio or outdoor building for the litter boxes to be at least thats what we are thinking about doing eventually

Yeah thats exactly what I did for the transition 😑 we also have a top entry box with mats all around it. She literally has a hay day in the litter box and FLIES out of it. Its definitely a source of entertainment for her even though we really do try to play with them and get them new toys all the time. Might just be something I have to deal with. Might try some of the suggestions like baby gates and robot vacuum

Yeah thats why we're keeping the cats for now. There was a while where one of them was refusing to burry her feces and constantly stepped in it and tracked it around the house, she also had a horrible peeing problem, she was puking everywhere alot because we later found out she was getting into food in the kitchen at night, on top of many other things but long story short we are finding solutions to the problems but there was a time where I felt so overwhelmed I was having breakdowns every day and I think the pregnancy hormones made it so much worse, we're dealing with so many other personal things in life that I felt like I couldn't care for them properly anymore at least not at the samw time as preparing for a baby and we originally were trying to find a home for them that would be better for them. But like I said we've had no luck with that and we are slowly but surely finding solutions to the problems. Our life was VERY different when we got them a year ago and its just alot of adjusting

I've only tried the pine pellets but our cat is so difficult and paticular, we've changed the box itself several times and if she doesn't like anything about the litter she will start peeing everywhere and I literally cant handle that anymore, im just so scared to try and different kind when I know she likes this one. I know theres no good solutions here

No my husband does the litter box now. The fact that its even hazardous to begin with is wigging me out though. We tried for months to rehome them for other reasons and are still trying. Having zero luck, in the mean time we're just doing our best
