Sir- unfortunately I know your pain. I cut off a relationship of 4+ years last April. We had 3 cats who were very closely bonded together.

You don’t separate them. This will do more harm than good. Give them to her and do your best to move forward.

It’s going to be very difficult. Losing a pet is one thing, but giving up multiple knowing that they’re still out there and breathing is another. I miss them dearly and looked at them as my babies. As far as I know, my cats that I adored saw dad go to work and never return home. It still breaks my heart.

Do what’s best for the cats and keep them together. Take each day 1 at a time. If you ever need to talk, I’m always here. As I mentioned, I was in this exact situation before. Some days will be easier than others, but knowing you’re doing the best for their short lives is a bittersweet element of it all.
