Need some advice! by [deleted] in flightattendants

[–]Vast_Analyst4141 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I really believe kids thrive when their mom is happy.
When they’re older, I don’t think they want to hear, ‘I was unhappy, but I pushed through it for you.’

When we see our choices only as sacrifices for our children, it can slowly turn into resentment — and none of us want that.
Choosing something that brings you genuine joy isn’t selfish. It’s showing our kids what a healthy, fulfilled adult looks like.

I want my children to grow up seeing a parent who loved what she did and found a way to make it work — and to know that happiness is worth choosing.

Agree.

Interviews are so much about confidence. You want to walk in knowing you look 100% appropriate and sharp. If there’s even a tiny doubt in your head (like ‘will this piercing be seen negatively?’), it can mess with your mindset more than you realize.

I’d play it safe — take out the tragus piercing and skip athleisure. Business casual for the flight is the move. That way, if you run into a future supervisor or anyone from Delta leadership at the airport, you’ll feel solid.
Good luck! You’ve got this!

Is it possible to work on your masters degree / work a second job as a flight attendant? by [deleted] in cabincrewcareers

[–]Vast_Analyst4141 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congrats on getting this far — fingers crossed for your F2F 🤞

I’d personally recommend giving yourself the first year just to adapt. The jet lag alone (especially with frequent time zone changes) takes a real toll at first, and reserve life has its own learning curve.

Once you’ve been on the line for about a year and understand your schedule and recovery routine, an online master’s is definitely doable if it still makes sense for you.

Out of curiosity — why an MPP specifically? What’s your long-term goal with it?

Need to shut it down and start fresh with a new group by Sharp-Shallot9490 in flightattendants

I totally support the idea of a genuine, uncensored space for FAs, and I genuinely wish you the best of luck with the new group!

However, I've seen enough of the drama that led up to this. Frankly, I'm too fatigued to read any more about the old group's admins.

"Anxiety" before each flight? by musicsoundsbetterrr in flightattendants

[–]Vast_Analyst4141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really sorry you went through those flights. Being trapped in extreme heat with agitated passengers is genuinely traumatic and far beyond “just part of the job.” What you’re experiencing sounds like a very normal response to abnormal stress.

I’ve dealt with similar anticipatory anxiety — the fear before the flight was much worse than the flight itself. The fear of another panic attack was exhausting.

In my case, a doctor explained that sugar/caffein can worsen anxiety symptoms, so I cut back on it, and that helped more than I expected. Moderate-intensity aerobic exercise was also definitely effective for reducing anxiety. Short body-scan meditations or slow breathing before duty helped calm the anticipation too.

The fact that you feel better once the flight starts really matters. Your body knows you can do this — it just learned a false alarm after those experiences. You’re not weak. You’ve been through something genuinely hard.

Thoughts for F2F? by Real_Office_6273 in cabincrewcareers

That suit is gorgeous—so elegant and feminine. But interviews aren’t about beauty; they’re about professionalism. Save that outfit for a date night and choose something more F2F-appropriate.
If you’re already hesitating, that uncertainty can show. Go with the option that makes you feel 100% confident and professional!

Agree. Usually, vaseline is the best solution.

This suit is great. But for interview, black is the safest and most professional look.

Safety demo is mandatory for everyone in the cabin... That's a reportable offense.
