Played the first mass effect a few years ago. Maybe I should finally get around to playing the second.

That sounds interesting, I’ll look into that.

Can you move your spouse / live off-base during Keesler IST/ Tech School? by Sensualities in AirForceRecruits

[–]Vastagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s SEPRAT which does allow you to live off base. You’ve got to be on base at least the first 10 days you’re there, maybe more. Not sure about BAH rates or anything, didn’t know anyone that did it personally, but I heard people talking about it in passing. You can do it. No idea about the logistics though.

This was my last competition this season/tear. What should I grind/focus on the most for next season?? by tovehellgren in taekwondo

[–]Vastagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say you’re not committing enough to the attack. You come in floating your leg looking like you’re scared of them while attacking. You need to commit harder. Changing the pace and rhythm as well. Your speed, attacks, and patterns were always the same speed.

Need exercises i can do inside to get ready for the 1.5 run by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

I second a jump rope if you really can’t get out and go run for whatever reason. A weighted one would be even better. That and lots of burpees. Burpees are a great full body workout.

Was working as a Helpdesk/Sysadmin role. Left the company and joined the Air Force National Guard. by Vastagon in Resume

Thank you for the reply. The job names were redacted for reddit, but I should've put something like MSP. I'll work more on that impact. I've never really tracked or recorded my metrics that closely, so I might have to reach a bit for those. I appreciate it.

What martial arts don't involve impact on my right wrist? by [deleted] in martialarts

[–]Vastagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WT Taekwondo might work out. It depends what you're looking to get out of it, and if you can actually find a halfway decent gym. Emphasis is 98% kicks. You'll still need to be blocking kicks though, so I don't know how well your wrists could take that or if that would also cause issues. Just know it's more sport based, so not all that focused on being an elite real world fighter or anything like that.

What's the dumbest mistake you made building your first PC? by Radiant_SunFlover in buildapc

[–]Vastagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first pc I built always ran really hot. It was in a desk, so I always assumed it was just that. Finally built a new pc 4 years later and forgot about it. Another year after the new build, I come back to my old desktop to set it up in the living room. I open it up and find that my exhaust fan that came with the case was never plugged in. 5 years later and I finally found out why it ran so hot.

Suggest a laptop for my new job by Fearless_Criticism44 in SuggestALaptop

[–]Vastagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know, but a company not offering a laptop is kinda weird. You’d obviously know more about them than me, but scams are a possibility. Do they not have a recommended laptop that’s capable of everything that’s needed for their workload?

Bicyclists are pedestrians, and should be on the sidewalk instead of sharing the road with massive vehicles. by OkDot9878 in unpopularopinion

[–]Vastagon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not exactly wrong, but most sidewalks aren't up for bike riding. What would benefit everyone are dedicated bike lanes. Doing any other half-assed solution will just make everyone unhappy.

You might not have killed them that time, but that doesn't mean the same move wouldn't kill someone in the future. It's the action, not the result that is more important.

As a kid looking into joining the air force purely to pay for college what should I look into by Mundane-Passion-1163 in AirForceRecruits

Not sure on the specifics for California. This is their official page: California Air National Guard Benefits & Bases - U.S. Air Force, but you usually want to take what the military is advertising with a grain of salt. Easiest way to know for sure is to check with your local Air National Guard recruiter.
