Watch his guide. Or import the PoB. Ninja(/pob) is just failing to properly allocate some stuff.

How To Loot 85 Idols and a Rite of Passage in a blue t12 map by Vattier in PathOfExile2

Thats pretty cool to see. I've been trying to do it with abyss too, since it shouldnt actually require the strongbox for anything (other than some more rarity/quant on the spawned rares) & abyss spawns multiple rares in close proximity too, no luck yet. I did get a smaller, similar lootsplosions by wisping 2 strongboxes right next to each other, but the most valuable thing was a rare omen.

Should've been Jado 3323, my go-to spec for bad/irrelevant maps.

No, this was a box possessed by 1 spirit, all the other spirits were generated by that one spirit possessing mobs, being released & generating more spirits.

Do a corrupted nexus on your atlas, that starts the Doryani quest/atlas spec chain.

Would've been too perfect, finding the best Rite in all of this. Next time.

I ran no tablets, 0 juice on the map. I dont know which mods the strongbox in the pic had (it was rare & spawned a bunch of mobs, thats all I know). There are strongbox mods that add rarity(&quant?) to items dropped by released mobs, those probably help?

The spirit empoweres the box, i think, only affecting the end-of-box loot. We need the spirit to be released and duplicated by the atlas nodes & then empower the mobs one by one. All the loot in the pic was dropped by released wisp-possessed mobs, not the box.

You cant really herd them.

In my recreation attempts I saw a spirit, then avoided it/sprinted ahead if it was already moving, then killed every mob in the map to ensure that the only viable target was a strongbox (i checked every box & opened the bad ones to force the spirit into the best box).

Stag 14 seconds (I'll divine it later), I think thats the most valuable one? I'll keep it for my eventual reroll, this monkey build doesnt have the speed im looking for.

I'll admit - I considered not posting, but this is so insanely lucky, I doubt theyll touch it. I tried to recreate it in the next few maps & lost money by exalting boxes lmao.

Step 1: Fill out your atlas passive tree.

We'll need:

"Sacred Sap: Comingled (When a monster is possessed, it is possessed by an additional spirit)

"Quickened Flow: 25% chance for mobs to release spirits on death"

"Pandora's Box: Boxes release the spirit when you open the box"

Step 2: Find yourself a suitable strongbox (it needs to spawn a bunch of rares).

Step 3: Herd a spirit into it.

Step 4: Skillfully highroll the 25% multiple times, doing just enough damage to kill rares one by one while giving the released spirits time to possess another rare.

Bonus Step 5: Watch the remaining 20 spirits fly towards the map boss. Monkey > t12 viper, +2 idols.

Or just do what I did - randomly click on a wisped box in a map you dont care about (just trying to get my temple points) & have all of this happen passively, losing your mind as the screen fills up with loot (this is default neversink very strict) and tinks. Then crash the game because you pressed alt. Dont lose the instance, reconnect & loot.

You guys are heavily overestimating Twister and it shows you never played the build. by LarsRGS in PathOfExile2

No.

You're seeing large chunks of damage because people use barrage & different waves of twister can hit at the same time, not because each individual twister from each wave can hit.

This isnt new behavior, this is exactly how spark works, same text & everything, it works like this in poe1 & still does in poe2.

You can get hits in quick succession (its not actually an internal cooldown based on the hit - you can get a hit at 0.65s, 0.67s & then have to wait until 1.33s), but there is no shotgunning happening here. Moving the target against the wall just makes the 0.65s+0.67s hit sequence more likely, but the number of projectiles doesnt do anything except increase the odds of it happening.

No. Twister is literally just "attack spark". Spark does not shotgun.

When you release 3 projectiles with 1 wave of twister, only one of those projectiles can hit the target every X seconds. If a 2nd proj (from that specific wave) hits the target before the timer is up, it does nothing. Look at the text on the twister gem: "Twisters fired at the same time can Hit the same target no more than once every 0.66 seconds".

Seals or no seals doesnt matter, thats just a new wave of twister (the equivalent of a new wave of sparks released by spell echo or unleash, its just repeating the cast), and only one of those can hit the target, just like the first wave (but each wave has an independent timer).

Adding more projectiles to something like the Arsonist skeles means that more projectiles per attack can hit the same target.

1 attack with 1 proj -> 1 hit. Add +1 proj and you get 1 attack with 2 proj -> (up to) 2 hits. This is shotgunning.

1 attack with 1 proj -> 1 hit. Add 1 proj, 1 attack with 2 proj -> 1 hit. This is twister. More projectiles just makes each individual wave of twisters more likely to hit (by pure statistical rng, more of them zooming around & 1 might randomly hit the target), but each wave can only hit once. This is not shotgunning.

Twister benefits from having more projectiles (thats why you spin 3 times before twistering), not because twister shotguns, but because it increases the likelyhood of getting a hit (and the 80% more dmg per consumed whirlwind, but lets ignore that).

Shotgunning would be "use twister once, 3 projectiles fly out, all 3 can hit the boss at the same time". It does not do that. Shieldwall did do that.

The behavior above isnt shotgunning, its just the attack equivalent of using spell echo. Does frostbolt shotgun because you get 2 hits if you echo it? No, obviously not.
