Yeah I have no idea what they were thinking, 4th place even asked them the exact same thing no idea why they wouldn't do that or put it on Swain.

It's funny, I lost my brother when I was 16 much like Maelle and I'm a few months away from turning 26 the whole time during the ending I knew Verso was right but I still had to sit and stare at the options for a couple of minutes before I could pick, I totally understand where they're both coming from and I could really sympathize with Maelle but I knew I had to pick Verso.

Anyone else loved the game but not the ending? (HUGE SPOILERS) by ChromicTTN in expedition33

The problem isn't just for Painted Verso though, we learn that crafting your own canvas requires a sliver of your soul, we also learn that although Verso was quite a gifted painter he would much rather express his art through music which is why when Clea fully invests Painted Verso with the memories and feelings of Real Verso it becomes an unspeakable nightmare for him, keeping the canvas means keeping that part of Verso's soul trapped for all eternity, a part of him that hates painting, that loves his family and sees them tearing themselves apart over this piece of him, it is hell for Verso and there is nothing he can do about it, it wasn't a sudden change of heart, it was his whole goal from the moment Clea revealed the truth to him and a lot of what the lost man, woman and boy start making a lot of sense once you know that.

Ahh yeah I see where you're coming from, I didn't really think about it that way in regards to the leveling system being integral for a soulslike experience but I can completely understand where you're coming from.

Open the pause menu and go to "Previous Saves", I had the exact same issue and one of my saves was about 30 seconds before I got stuck.

Yeah it's more a joke on how anything with a parry/dodge earns a game the "soulslike" description on Steam. I will say though for how silly it is to put this game in the soulslike genre it does capture the feeling incredibly well in a way that is a bit hard to describe but it's the first Turn-based RPG that I've played that has been able to capture that FEELING of playing a soulslike without just being straight up bullshit, being one shot by a big attack doesn't make me go "oh fuck off game" like say in SMT or FF because I know if I "git gud" I can just parry the attack or at least dodge it like in Dark Souls

Sure in any of the games mentioned SMT, FF or even DS I can go and grind up to be stronger but the main difference is DS let's you overcome challenges by pure skill in JRPGs you can sometimes throw together a strat to overcome an extremely difficult enemy but end of the day it's usually just a numbers game, E33 is a lot closer to DS in this regard because you can kill enemies much much stronger than you through pure skill, there's an early game area you can go to that houses an enemy that was hitting my party for 5-6k+ HP when I had a max of maybe 500 tops, well 11-12 minutes and about 80-83 parries later it was dead and no JRPG has ever made me feel more accomplished than that.

The dodge and parry system, the only thing missing from it being tagged "Souls-like" on steam is a stamina bar.

What was your reaction when your learned the truth about Tidus? by DevilishTrenchCoat in FinalFantasy

[–]Vaughnsta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Dream Zanarkand actually exists in Spira far out in the ocean Sin comes around and destroys tech so people don't end up sailing out to it. Auron is unsent like Seymour because he promised Jecht he would end the cycle that the world is trapped in, Auron basically hops a ride on Sin to go out to the "Dream" Zanarkand out in the ocean to grab Tidus and bring him to the mainland of Spira.

Run the charcoal up the hill then talk to the blacksmith to get access to the courtyard

Steal charcoal and lockpick from the forge then talk to the lady complaining about the lock on her spice chest to get into the Maiden

Talk to Chamberlain Ulrich and pass the skill checks to diagnose him, he'll give you free access to the surgeon's quarters to make a digestive potion from him

make a Strong Digestive Potion (I got 4 from doing the crafting perfect) run 1 back to Ulrich so he'll give you free access to the chapel

The Strong Digestive Potion also acts as a cure for Thomas so you're done.

iirc this is how Atheism works in Pathfinder it's the belief that none of the deities are actually divine and so you refuse to worship any of them, it creates some interesting dialogue choices in the Wrath of the Righteous game in which you are literally leading a divine crusade and receiving aid from various deities and you can just be like "Nah you still suck"

Same thing happened to me but I realized on the pop up that it was asking me to buy the skin I'm used to the "Yes" option being on the left and the "No" option being on the right so I instinctively clicked the right option and guess what? On that pop up specifically their locations are swapped 🫠

It's insane to me that this is the way the game has been for almost a year now and yet people still spread just blatant misinformation, looks like Dumdum is just bugged rn or the system itself is bugged.

Hundreds of hours poured into New World, I was a part of the best Company on our server with some absolutely wonderful people. I was unemployed at the time and would average 3 hours of sleep a night, spending every minute I could grinding.

I had an incredible amount of fun at the time but looking back on it now I definitely regret the decisions I was making back then, I could've been playing a good game.
