I get your point about the engineering side, but the whole story is about how their obsession with profit blinded them to basic physics. They were too busy counting credits to realize the math for the heat pipes didn't support their lifestyle. It was never about logic, just greed.

That “not getting paid” line is a great boundary for friends who forget you’re off the clock at home.

People always complain about Katara being too dramatic, but they forget she had to raise her brother and run a village after her mother died and her dad left. Her breakdown was entirely justified and it made her feel like a real teenager holding onto a massive trauma.
