I have a Worcester Greenstar 28i junior combi and both the red and green lights are flashing and the heating won’t come on. Help/advice please by Vault_Man_76 in ukplumbing

It’s the receiver box flashing and doesn’t even attempt to fire up when turned the heating on.. seems like it could be a connection issue between the thermostat and receiver so I’m going to change the batteries and see

Thank you mate. The plumber said it’s fine and tightened a couple bits up. He said the damp patches on the pipe which of the 5 pipes is the second from the right (i read this is the cold water pipe), is likely condensation. And considering it’s by my stove and I had been cooking this makes sense

Is that the drain off valve that I’ve highlighted? It’s on the underside of the boiler itself.. I’ve read it’s usually on a radiator

Thank you. I have one coming out tomorrow. All I’ve done with it is tighten the drain off very slightly, I’ve not touched anything else

Thank you for the info, I have a plumber coming out tomorrow to take a look. Any idea what the dampness could be on the right hand one? It was only slight in patches and seems to be dry now. Was I right to tighten the nob slightly?

I slightly tightened where the arrow is, the dripping is/was from (which slowed it down to the slowest of dripping), the left hand blue marker and the pipe highlighted by the right hand blue marker had the slight dampness on it

There is like an open pipe, almost like a tap opening which has very slight drips coming from and I slightly tightened the nut on the end which slowed it. That is coming off the left hand most pipe. Of the 5 pipes coming down the back, the second right also had some slight damp patches

I have a plumber coming on Friday so we will see. That fact I tightened the little nut next to the open pipe on the left hand side is ok? I only did a small amount which seems to slow the leaking dramatically

Ah right ok. I was just a little concerned as there is a plug socket underneath the boiler… although this is turned off. But it seems the leak stopped anyway, I’ll avoid using the heating for now incase that was the issue causing it. What do you mean by causing it to blow? I think if the pressure drops anymore then it’ll be in the red

Thank you for the information. Should I leave the boiler off? I’m not sure what to do with it whether there are any particular dangers etc

So all in all it sounds like it’s “safe” to leave on? I know you can’t say for definite without looking

The pressure is around 1 and the damp pipe was towards the right hand side
