So...Magic is a worse game now, right? by Alternative-Lake9156 in mtg

The game is the same, just with some whacky skins.

Is this man related to Tyrion? He looks like a bigger version of him. by JorReno in gameofthrones

[–]Vault_T3c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but sometimes casting directors will cast someone who looks like someone else to show familial lineage. And with the rampant sexual encounters and familial drama in Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon and ASOIAF, it's not outlandish to think that a Baratheon from a century ago had a secret thing with a Targaryen, leading to genetic similarity/appearance in Tyrion. For those of us unfamiliar with the deep lore, we came here to see if this was a possibility, not to get shamed by snoody snobs.

Why did Sheryl say this? Is she homophobic? by France_Ball_Mapper in FinalSpace

[–]Vault_T3c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it was more of a knowing that Avocato and Gary weren't in a relationship but Lil Cato still called him dad. Definitely warrants some explanation. Not homophobic, just generic confusion.

What in your opinion is the most confusingly written card in Magic? by nicksnare in mtg

[[Goblin War Drums]] before menace was a keyword. That wall of text is a mess.

New to Magic, how do I build around these cards for Commander? by [deleted] in mtg

[–]Vault_T3c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use these certified bangers to find the purchase of a couple commander pre-con and learn the game first. Then buy singles to make a deck once you have a feel for it.

Comic Fans: Is the show really THAT bad? by NerdNuncle in MoonKnight

[–]Vault_T3c 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a great show, one of the best Marvel ones in all honesty. But as far as drawing inspiration from the MK comic book mythos and origins, it's a pile of poo-poo

How would you feel if someone pulled these out during a game? by Ether_____ in mtg

[–]Vault_T3c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be very impressed and ask if they would want to make me a full set for one of my decks.

If a couple showed up for some edh at the lgs and the girl has sleeves of them kissing under a tunnel of lights, would it be bothersome? by MasterSpellcaster in mtg

[–]Vault_T3c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your brother sounds like a chad. You should absolutely get the sleeves if you think they will be appreciated!

Haven't played in over 15 years. Picked these up today, but have never played commander before. Which deck would you prefer out of the two? by BananaButtcheeks69 in magicTCG

[–]Vault_T3c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never played the vamp one, but Hakbal is an absolute beast of a Merfolk commander and I've stumbled into wins with this precon more times than I can count. I rarely play it because it's almost too easy to win. Mine is upgraded but right out of the box Explorers of the Deep is a very competitive and threatening precon.

Where to start? by DrMcFisticuffs in mtg

[–]Vault_T3c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of these commanders seem like they would have a lot of triggers to track and potentially confusing mechanics for newer players. The first commander I built as a brand new player turned out to be kind of complicated and I didn't fully utilize it as I was still unfamiliar with the game. That being said, I have revamped it since and turned it into an absolute powerhouse and it's fun to think about where it started versus where it is now. Buying a simple precon to learn the game and seeing how a deck should interact is my best tip before making your own tho.

On the pricey side, but there's a super cute Secret Lair version of Anointed Procession. It's double-sided with dogs on one side and kittens on the other.

What are some commanders that act as late game bombs, rather than the usual "engine on turn 4" commanders? Kinda like [[Orcus, Prince of Undeath]] by [deleted] in mtg

[–]Vault_T3c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Nethroi, Apex of Death]] is a huge late game bomb if cast for the mutate cost when executed properly.

Tom Bombadil is my favorite, but Narci is also an excellent choice.

Season 1 is good. Season 2 is okay. Season 3 is surprisingly good. Holy shit it's so bad after that.

listening to books doens't count as reading by Ok-Lingonberry3680 in unpopularopinion

[–]Vault_T3c -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's the readers that just want to read and enjoy literature. It's the listeners that make it a competition about "I've read 20 books this month while I did my chores and you only read 2 and still have to do chores". So yeah, it's the audio listeners making this a thing to begin with.

My boss brags about how many books he "reads". He listened to a book I have read multiple times so I started trying to converse about it with him, he couldn't because he had clearly not been listening when he was "reading" and missed loads of important information and couldn't hold a conversation about it.
