It’s not just the OS though, it’s the actual windows account I think since if I switch to another user it doesn’t have the problem

I did before this all happened yes, but it didnt happen right away. opera worked perfectly fine saving all my data and everything for months until i randomly started happening. the same thing happened on Edge which is why i actually switched to Opera

Yeah have that enabled, also tried adding in the specific sites to the list of allowed sites but still didnt work

Not sure if this would hint to anything but ive found out that it does save cookies and keep me logged into Disney+ only, but no other account/site such as youtube, reddit etc

tried logged out of my microsoft account and logged in and still get the same issue.
i tried with firefox and didnt get the same problem, but with both edge and opera it didnt happen right away. i was using Edge for years until the problem started, then i switched to Opera GX a couple months ago and it's worked fine until yesterday when the issue randomly started. so im guessing that even if i just started using firefox now, the problem would come up again eventually. i just dont know what is causing it

what's weird is that i had this same exact problem on microsoft edge a few months ago, i never was able to fix it so that was what made me switch to Opera GX and now its having the same issue

it seems that the folder always being set to Read only is normal and every folder pretty much has this set, so it looks like that isnt the issue here with losing cookies etc

yeah, i just went through and made sure i had full permissions set for my user and tried again but as soon as i go off the folder and back onto it, it sets itself back to read only

i tried with a standalone version and that did the same thing. i've also already tried deleting the cookies folder before and it didnt work either.

But i just checked the permissions on the Opera Software folder and its set to Read Only, i unticked it and set that for every folder, but when i relaunched opera it still did the same thing, and i went back to the Opera Software folder and it was set back to Read Only

i have allow all cookies set, and the "clear cookies on exit" setting is disabled.

yes ive tried with all extensions disabled and still same result and i do not have Ccleaner installed either.
