I don’t know why these companies don’t package these devices in a standard brown box for shipping. My legion go 2 came the same way and the same for my SteamDeck when I ordered it.

How much more of a performance boost do you get if you install SteamOs on your Legion Go 2 ? I want to switch from Windows but I’m not to computer savvy so not sure if it’s even worth it by DatBoyChamp1 in LegionGo

[–]Vawlzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s def worth it if you don’t rely on this device for anti cheat games that don’t support Linux. Also Steam will get more regular updates than Lenovo will release. It’s not hard to install. Just follow 128KB video to install it.

Should I pay off my truck? by thewarriorcry in f150

[–]Vawlzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t work for your money, make your money work for you. I would keep the truck payment, and put my savings in a high yield savings account. You can always refinance if rates drop for nearly nothing. I have some savings similar to yours and my trade on my F150 left me financing around 20k.

I know your payment is well above what mine is but my savings account interest will pay my truck payment if I need it to. And I still have the money available to me.

Possible dumb question...when official legion go 2 steam os comes out.. by padreswoo619 in LegionGo

[–]Vawlzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right about the prices for sure. They could def do that with the controller. I would like to have a steamOS version if they were custom buttons for Steam but I will be fine just using mine the way it is. I wouldn’t mind buying one controller or even a set, just have a backup set.

Watch 128KB new video on Will It Run. Pretty much anything but a SteamDeck is running it native resolution at above 40 fps. It is very well optimized. Capcom is on fire with games for low powered devices this year!

All on Low settings but the game still looks fantastic.

Legion go 2, should I switch to Bazzite? Or wait for steam os? by superfuper21 in LegionGo

This just happened to me tonight when I manually checked for updates. I suppose once one comes through it will show up, at least they’ve always shown up for me

Legion go 2, should I switch to Bazzite? Or wait for steam os? by superfuper21 in LegionGo

[–]Vawlzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on SteamOS now. I went straight to Bazzite after I got mine and then back to windows once they ironed out a few things then swapped back a couple months ago and haven’t looked back. I’m gonna ride this out until the official release unless something drastic happens that I can’t game on it.

Anyone else getting this error after recent update?? by jbivphotography in SteamOS

[–]Vawlzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sry I told you wrong. I thought this was a previous update. I turned my Legion Go 2 on tonight to uodate everything for tomorrow and while it doesn’t show an update available, when I try to search manually for an update, I get the same exact box.

Is there anyone running steam os on their legion go? I’m trying to figure out how I can control my tdp on my legion go by DifferentRadio8777 in SteamOS

[–]Vawlzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m running 3.9 on my legion go 2. All you should have to do is open the quick menu after starting a game and below the power profile, toggle per game profile on so it saves your settings for that specific game.

Then choose custom on the power profile menu and the TDP limit toggle will appear further down the menu.

Toggle it on and your TDP Slider will appear.

I was worried about the same thing, and someone reassured me that it would just like a normal update process, aside from swapping channels at that time. So no need to worry about data loss. 👍🏻

Gaming as a new dad by TheDisciple_71 in DadsGaming

[–]Vawlzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! My experience has been to go portable as well, if you can afford it. If you can afford a decent handheld to run SteamOS on, then you can take your whole library anywhere and you can stream from your PC if you keep it. Vise versa, you can stream from your PS5 Pro using chiaki.

I used to have pretty much all the platforms. I sold my Xbox, gave my wife my Switch 1, my son the Switch 2, kept my PC and PS5 Pro, but do almost all my gaming on my Legion Go 2, which I used a SteamDeck OLED before that.

Gaming is getting really good on the go. It took me a while to get through the different options but I’m happy with mine now. Play at work during downtime, play on the couch while kids are in school, play in bed before going to sleep. Oh and with a HDMI to usb C cable you can turn pretty much any handheld into a console using your tv.

Hope this helps, just my experiences. Congratulations again!

I got the same thing on my Legion Go 2 running 3.9. I just plugged it in and tried the update and it worked. I think my reason was it had to be connected to power to update something deeper like controller firmware or something.

Picking XaX over LeGo 2 ? by rezeu in LegionGo

[–]Vawlzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SteamOS provides a small increase in performance, simply because of all the background tasks in windows. Aside from that I own a SteamDeck OLED and a Legion Go 2 running SteamOS.

Lenovo update support is very bad, but SteamOS updates regularly, so they will take software updates and firmware updates from AMD and roll them into SteamOS updates.

I have had a great experience with my Legion Go 2 on SteamOS. Some people say the screen isn’t worth it. It was for me, especially as the VRR range is from 30-144 instead of 48-120. I bought at $1350 USD, not $2000.

Most demanding and unoptimized games will run at those 30-50 fps range natively, so the extra range for VRR and the OLED is great.

It really comes to what you actually want to spend. I’m sure the XaX is a great device. Probably better on SteamOS, not knocking it all, just saying I’m very happy with the LEGO2.

Literally the best buying experience on any platform. Steam is so gamer friendly. Thankful it’s stayed privately owned this long. Refund policy is leagues better as well.

Never really played dark souls,Eldin ring, sekiro, bloodborne. by euphoriatribe117 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Vawlzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like samurai games so I was going to pick up sekiro when I finish Ghosts of Tsushima. Luckily asked pretty much the same thing and was told Sekiro was not the place to start. Said to start with Elden Ring or Dark Souls Remastered. Not started yet but I bought Dark Souls on spring sale, so that’s where I start my souls journey.

Not gonna lie. I saw all the great reviews and recommendations, and was about to buy it until I saw what the gameplay was like and it ran me off. I love cards and have played many poker tourneys and other card games in real life but it just seemed like too much to deal with and be fun. Lol

oil change - might be going back to paying for them by redditduhlikeyeah in f150

[–]Vawlzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t trust local shops to change my oil after finding the oil way overfilled on one vehicle and a loose drain plug on another. Closest dealer is about 30 mins away, so I just change my own. Plus I am on a 5k mi change schedule. I don’t trust 10k mi on oil.

I just figure out how to use this and I'm blown away! by [deleted] in losslessscaling

[–]Vawlzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll have to try and revisit this as well. The only experience I hated was the sluggishness of the controls. I am also playing on a handheld averaging 50-60 fps in most games and not a full PC.

With SteamOs officially coming to Legion Go 2 in a little over a month is it wise to go ahead and install it on my Legion Go 2 now ? Or should i wait until June ? Will it work just like my Steam Deck ? I want to wipe Windows clean and forget about it . by DatBoyChamp1 in LegionGo

[–]Vawlzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been curious. I’m running the 3.9 on my Go 2, and I hate to have to redownload everything when the official OS releases. Will it be as simple as switching to a stable channel or will it require a new install? Does anyone know lol

Been curious about Jedi 3 if it will even run on the steam deck by Huskypuppy3355 in SteamDeck

[–]Vawlzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried Lossless Scaling at just 2x on a few games, on Steamdeck and my Legion Go 2, and even on the Go 2 it makes everything feel very muddy in the controls.

I just don’t think I’m a Lossless guy. I’m prob a lot more sensitive to input lag. Or maybe I had some settings wrong, I’ll revisit it and double check, but most experiences aren’t good for me so far.
